Probably a silly question but exactly does professional critiquing get you?

Oh! I see. that sounds awesome! Unfortunately I'm not done my book yet- I've completed 1 storyline (it's one of those duo story lines that will eventually merge together), but do you only look at completed MS? I'm assuming that would be the most beneficial?
