I didn't picture Blake. I don't think she's confortable enough in her own skin. Maybe before the rhinoplasty, but after I saw the bump reduction from Accepted to Gossip Girl it was clear she didn't like the aesthetics of it. Accept your nose! It knows!

In Twilight, I pictured Jacob as the annoying younger brother type, less mature looking. Younger, but trying to be like the older cool kids. In the second one, he was more grown up, and cuter in my mind. In the movie Twilight, the actor just looked more mature than I first pictured Jacob, and acted more like I thought of Jacob in the second book. Did that make sense?

message 109: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh yes. Yeah, the annoying kid thing was not what Taylor was going for I guess.

message 110: by Athena♥ (new)

Athena♥ (lips_of_an_angel) Billy (Charley) - Perfect and hilarious
Kristen (Bella) - As far as looks go Kristen's got it. But she's just terrible in the acting department! Can you tell Bella was in love with Edward? Because I sure can't.
Ashley (Alice) - I could not have said it better myself, Melzz. Perfect.
Rob (Edward, duh.) - Was alright. He is pretty much what I had in mind for looks, but he does lack that certain confidence and charm that he has in the books.

The rest of the actors were perfect, in my opinion. I think no one could have possibly fit Jacob better than Taylor...it just isn't possible. Especially now that he's bulked up a bit and can take center stage as Bella's own personal sun. (I hope Kristen doesn't screw it up. Like in the trailor, anyone notice her dramatic performance when she litterally THROWS the box down when she gets a tiny paper cut. One freaking paper cut and she throws her gift.)

Roksana | 118 comments Hi I am new...

I watched the movie first and then read the books so for me the actors are the charecters. I love ROB as Edward....I love his eyes!! Kirsten is Bella for me...I dont know....in person she looks like a drugie (is that a word??) but she plays Bella Well. I love ALICE in the book and I think Ashley plays her to perfection. Kellan is awesome and suits as Emmett...Jasper, CC and Esme are all well placed but Rosalie!! I hate Nikki as Rosalie! No offence to any one who likes Nikki but I think she is not pretty at all....I can think off atleast 10 actors who could have played her, off top of my head! Twilight didnt have Taylor that much so I wasnt sure but since seeing the clips of NM ....I like him as Jacob.

I am team Swiz but honestly I am more of a Edward/Rob fan (not the harrase him to death type) and not Jacob (Jacob annoys the hell out of me in Eclipse...LOL).

I LOVE Charlie...I cant imagine anyone playing Charlie except Billy. Even the Humans are well placed.

OK enough of my blah blah....LOL

message 113: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (luvs2read4ever) I saw the movie before I read the book...which i have just started. For me the characters of the movie are what I see in my head when I read it. I know that there are a lot of mixed reactions about the cast, especially the leads. Personally, I think there are no 2 better people to play these leads. Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson play the perfect Bella & Edward. But, I'm sure if 2 other people had played the parts, I could possibly be saying the same about them right now. But Kristen & Rob just seem to have this chemistry, which obviously has followed them off screen, that makes Edward & Bella who they are. You can see it by the way they look at each other. I think the chemistry that they have off-screen has helped make them take Edward & Bella to a whole nother level. Peter Facinelli is the perfect Carlisle, as is Elizabeth Reaser as Esme. I think they picked the perfect person to play Alice, Ashley Greene is amazing. Jackson Rathbone is a pretty good Jasper. He sure did play the wounded, hurting sad vampire rather perfectly. I'm not sure what I thought about Rosalie and Emmett. They were not bad, but not perfect. Maybe it's just because they weren't in a whole lot of parts, I guess just as much as Jasper & Alice, but I just don't know what i think of them. I like Nikki Reed as an actress, don't get me wrong. Maybe I'll like her more in New Moon. I've never heard of Kellan Lutz untill Twilight, so I can't really so much about him. They definitely cast Charlie well. I can't picture anyone else playing him. All in all, I think they did a great job casting out these parts. I am very excited about the next three movies. I can't wait to see where these amazing people take us next...

message 114: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes and no.

Rob is not Edward he never ever ever will be.
Kristine fits but roughly.
The guy that plays Carlisle looks like a Ken doll.
Elizabeth is a perfect Esme.
Ashley is perfect for Alice.
Jasper works as well.
Kellan and whatsherface are a perfect Emmet and Rosalie.

Also the sparkle effect sucked.
Rob over did it on the lipstick.

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

Amber, Rob doesn't choose the make up they put on him. But yes I think the make-up people put too much lip stain on him.

message 116: by Kate (new)

Kate | 69 comments Part of the problem with the make up is the lighting. Cosmetics always look different under different lighting, and if they put it on the actors somewhere different from where they are shooting, it might not look as good as it did when they first put it on.

Yeah and they had a really hard time because of the wet rainy weather. I live about 35 min from where they did most of the filming and when it rains here it is usually accompanied by this mist that just sort of hangs in the air. Believe me it is not great for the whole make up department.

Ya I know it's just Twilight was a phenomenal movie but compared to the book it wasn't good but they could never make it just right or all our imaginations.

That explains why you have such a time difference from me. Wow 35 minuets away did you ever go see the set? I live in Iowa and our weather is just rain sunshine and snow

message 121: by Erin (new)

Erin (erndurian) Bella was way too depressed. Like her voice was too low and she talks clipped. She is perfect for Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.

message 122: by [deleted user] (new)

That was a good movie

message 123: by Erin (new)

Erin (erndurian) i need to c that

message 124: by [deleted user] (new)

It's sorta creepy.

message 125: by Erin (new)

Erin (erndurian) I'm reading Wintergirls by her.

message 126: by [deleted user] (new)

That's a good book but creepy (shudder)

Actually, Kristen Stewart did play Melinda for that movie. I thought she did nicely in that one, you should get to watching it. Speak is one of my favorite books. :)

message 128: by [deleted user] (new)

I know i did she was absolutely perfect she doesn't have enough smart butt in her for Bella.

message 129: by Alice (last edited Sep 14, 2009 11:36AM) (new)

Alice | 12 comments I would have to say Rob and Kristin.

Rob because I was expecting someone who was breath taking, Rob is more of the high fashion type guy if you ask me and in my mind Edward was going to be... different. I don’t know, its hard to get the Edward in my head out and describe him. Rob is ok looking but nothing I was expecting. He also didn't have the charm i was thinking he would have.

Kristin, well lets face it, she has a man-ish voice. I think that she is great but not Bella material. I was expecting Bella to be more not such a girly girl but just those girls who could be girly girls if they really wanted.

message 130: by [deleted user] (new)

Kristen is not as feminine as Bella, and I think she could have brought more of that "blushing-beauty" vibe to her.

message 131: by [deleted user] (new)

Kristin is more tom-boy so she didn't quite capture it. the converse to prom in the book she wore strappy sandals.

message 132: by Kate (new)

Kate | 69 comments Melzz wrote: "Kristen is not as feminine as Bella, and I think she could have brought more of that "blushing-beauty" vibe to her."

Blushing is harder in a movie. How do you make an actor blush? They rehearse the scenes a lot, so it's not like they could just embarress her. And if they faked it, we would probably be able to tell.

message 133: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't mean to make her literally blush, I just meant, that she could have had more of a soft-spokeness to her. Bella didn't speak much (even though it was hard to tell, being in her head) and when she did, it was careful, calculated, and controlled to be softer than she was thinking it to be, making her appear shy. Especially when she blushed a lot. That's what I meant by "blushing-beauty" vibe.

message 134: by Kate (new)

Kate | 69 comments I agree. She seemed a little too outgoing to be Bella. Bella was more reserved, and controlled, like you said.

message 135: by [deleted user] (new)

Everyone is talking about Kristen not playing a good Bella. I can see where they are coming from, but I think she did an 'okay' job as Bella and Rob did too and Taylor too.

message 136: by Katie (new)

Katie (xkatiexfitchx) I loved Edward/Robs hair in twilight so much! But it got worse as each film went on. Robs hair in real life is not great either, i always think he just looks messy. Sometimes people look good with that kind of messy hair style but it just doesn't work for him....

message 137: by Katie (new)

Katie (xkatiexfitchx) Robs an okay actor and he did look the part. I liked Kirsten as Bella, but in other films i think she's terrible. As for Taylor... he's just got nice abs and good hair.

message 138: by Alexia (new)

Alexia | 9 comments Rob wasn't confident enough. In the books Edward was way more smug at times. And neither of the main characters smiled enough! The others were AMAZING though! I wish I'd been there when the movies first came out to see them in theaters!!!
