Patrick | 17 comments The Marla Mason series (Blood Engines is first book) and The King Henry Tapes series (Foul mouth and the fanged lady is first book) are a lot of fun for Dresden fans. After that, perhaps the Nightside series (something from the nightside first book).

Gianluca (gianlucag) You could try Something from the Nightside, from the Nightside series.
I read the first five books and it's somewhat similar to The Dresden Files, though not nearly as good.

Gayle | 1 comments Benedict Jacka (his character is a kind of a mage in UK and mentions some crazy mage in Chicago that advertises in the yellow pages in the first book..., Kevin Hearne, James R. Tuck (a bit different but I liked the books).

Tricia Reed | 5 comments Indeed excellent series and a new one just came out. Be prepared for foul language and an ample dose of vulgarity but that aside a very comparable read to the feel of a Dresden book.

Tricia Reed | 5 comments Glad to oblige. I love to spread the word about indie authors and support their work. Much success to Richard Raley!
