Buddy Read

February Buddy Read Discussion
Duration: 01 February 2014 - 28 February 2014

Instructions & Info:

Rules:

Use this thread to find your buddy and determine your book! You can always start by posting books, authors or genres you are interested in! When you decide who you buddy and your book you will head on over to the FINAL SIGN UP thread (see link at bottom) and tell me your book and buddy there (there will be instructions to follow) If you are without a partner by the end of sign up I will match the remaining people up, so no worries...EVERYONE will have a buddy:-)

1.If you want to participate post your name and maybe let people know what genre(s) you are interested in reading and or any books that you're interested in reading.

2.If you already know who you’d like to read with, go to the Final Sign Up thread and post your information for me!

3.Whoever doesn’t have a partner, we will place with another person and you guys can pick a book together! If we have an odd number we can have groups of three, more people to discuss with!

4.I will create Buddy Discussion Threads for each Buddy group and you will be able to start reading and discussing.

5.The challenge will span a month.

6.For each group we can set up a thread so the two of you can discuss without having to sift through a bunch of other conversation. But please leave us updates as to how far along you guys are and how you’re liking the book!

7.You CAN sign up for more than one Buddy Read...in fact it's encouraged! And I'm giving a full month just for reading this time around so it will give you more time for more books!!!

ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK!

Once you have a buddy, go to the February Sign Up Thread and post your book and your buddy.

message 2: by Maria (new)

Maria Hi I'm Maria. I read a lot of different kind of books but not thrillers or mysteries. Increasingly non fiction rather than fiction. I've never done a challenge before, anyone else new?

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey Everyone!
I’m Chantelle, I’m pretty new to Goodreads in general, and I haven’t done a Challenge before.

I can read just about anything EXCEPT Autobiographies and Memoirs.

Great to have both of you! :)

If you already have a few books in mind that you'd like to read next month, I'd recommend posting a list here, that often helps with finding a buddy. :)

message 5: by Bouchra (new)

Bouchra Rebiai (bouchrarebiai) | 227 comments Hi everyone!

I'm Bouchra, and I love reading books of all kinds, but I'm trying to get some (read: a lot) of non-fiction and classics/must-reads under my belt this year. For the classics/must-reads, I'm tackling the 1001 Books You Must Read Before you Die List. With regards to non-fiction, I'm open to anything that'll teach me a bit more about the world around me.

message 6: by Emy (new)

Emy Hi, I'm Emy, and I love reading fantasy. :)

I'd love to read The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Luck in the Shadows by Lynn Flewelling or Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey. I did start Kushiel's Dart last year, but I need to restart because it's been so long since I picked it up. I'm open to suggestions, also! :)

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, I'm Talia, and this will be my first buddy read for this group. Emy, I've been wanting to read The Name of the Wind for a while now, so I'd like to buddy read that with you!

Christina, I see we both have A Discovery of Witches on our to-read. It seems to be one of those that people either love or hate. Would you be interested in trying it together?
