I just started Salem's Lot by Stephen King last night and once I finish that, I will probably read City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I'm trying to read the books on my shelves so I can at least have a dent made in them. I also told myself that for every five books on my shelf that I read, I can buy one book this summer. Salem's Lot will be number 5. :D

At the moment the two books up next in my list are:- Christopher Moore's The Stupidest Angel A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror, Version 2.0
- Daniel Silva's A Death In Vienna

Oh no, dilemma!
I have three books that Ive gotten in the mail over the past two weeks from authors/publishing companies... and I want to be fair and read them in the order I have gotten them:
Last Night in Twisted River
Inherent Vice
Death by Zamboni
However, they are actually calling out to me in reverse order....
What is a girl to do???

lori i rent books from booksfree.com its better then going to town to get news ones everytime.
Thanks Tammie, but I cannot bear renting books. I have to buy them and own them... No point in reading it if I can't show it off when Im done :)
The ones Ive listed were all mailed to me, however, half the fun is in walking the bookshelves in search of the next one to come home with me!!

Always go with the heart.
Waltz with Bashir, the graphic novel, is next on my list. I would already be reading it however The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society butted in and once I had read a few pages I just couldn't put it down. I think it's my favourite book so far this year. I would recommend it to anyone. Although the writing style is light the story is very moving and had me both in tears and laughing out loud.
I have heard you either absolutely love the potato peel or can't get into it. Really happy you liked it, for me it was too cutesie, I must have been going through a very dark faze when I tried to read it.My next books are changing constantly, but will read the new michael chabon but Northanger Abbey and David Copperfield are looking good as well.
HI Beth, Last Night is also my next book to read. I have a feeling that there are going to be quite a few late nights up reading that book.

If you read quickly, maybe they won't notice you read them out of order. I do hate to hurt my books feelings! Still there's probably a good reason you're called to read them in the reverse order. So I'd go with your gut!
I have a couple books sent to me by the publisher for review, which I need to finish by the next two weeks - but I just got something from the library yesterday which just intrigued me and now I cannot read anything else. Time enough...
Kristin, I think you're right about the new Irving book. I'm going to be reading it with a friend I met here on GR beginning 12/15.
my 2nd book to read is Lasher (Lives of the Mayfair by anne rice
Next books on my list are a first read called The Botticelli Secret by Marian Fiorato
or the Wicked Duke Takes a Wife Jillian Hunter
or Believe Victoria Alexander
or A Precious Jewel Mary Balogh
or 1000 White Women
As you can see I am not over my historical romance need yet, but I am trying to mix it up... We will see which one of those comes next!!! Suggestions???
My next two books after Coraline are:P.S. Longer Letter Lately by Paula Danziger and Ann M Martin
Fallen - David Maine
I haven't finished The Time Traveler's Wife yet but I find I can easily lose myself in it. Anyway, these books are due at the library pretty soon:Louisa May Alcott: Little Women
Tim Burton: The Melancholy Death Of Oyster Boy & Other Stories
Phil Rickman: Crybbe
Ray Bradbury: The Martian Chronicles
Peter Carey: True History Of The Kelly Gang
Joseph Heller: Catch-22
Ralph Waldo Ellison: The Invisible Man
I was hoping someone might have recommendations on which books I should definitely read at the risk of late fees :)
Made a switch on my TBR...Currently reading: Dracula, the next books will be An Abundance of Katherines and Pride and Prejudice

Thanks, Lindz :)
I'm not sure I can help much, since the only one on your list that I have read is 1000 White Women. I really enjoyed that one. It's such a fascinating premise -- It's an alternate history -- "what if" scenario.Even though I can't give opinions on the others, I wanted to thank you for posting the list. You gave me some ideas for my to-read list!

Just finished The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood (which I absolutely loved!) and the next four to finish out my goal of reading my top 10 TBR books before getting any more are:Best Friends Forever A Novel
The Angel's Game
The Hunger Games
Last Night in Montreal
Shona, I loved The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I like her books about dytopic subjects in the future. Lisa, I read The Wicked Duke Takes a Wife and now I am on to reading A Precious Jewel. What ideas did I give you?
Then onto the first read book called The Botticelli Secret. I don't like to leave the first reads too long before I read them.
Dangit...I really want to read Shutter Island but I don't remember where I put it. I have way too many books....
Cammie,I loved this book. I learned so much about that culture's belief in the afterlife.

Here is my list for this month to try and read:Pretties - Scott Westerfeld
Specials - Scott Westerfeld
The Secret Hour - Scott Westerfeld
Touching Darkness - Scott Westerfeld
Blue Noon - Scott Westerfeld
Housewife in Love - Alison Penton Harper
Sliver of Truth - Lisa Unger
Dream On - Bali Rai
Parasite Positive - Scott Westerfeld
Jo wrote: "I've got Uglies and The Secret Hour to read soon. Hope you like them! "Jo, I am liking Uglies at the moment and I am looking forward to readin the other 1 as well.
Jo wrote: "Good to hear! I have read Parasite Positive and i thought that was pretty good but i haven't read any of his other books. "Jo, these are the series he has:
Uglies, Pretties, Specials & Extras
The Secret Hour, Touching Darkness, Blue Noon
Peeps aka Parasite Positive, The Last Days
I read Uglies a few months ago as a library read and surprisingly loved it. I had assumed that it was going to be shallow like The Gossip Girl books, but with a sci-fi twist, so I was happy when they weren't. I should pick up Pretties soon.
I tried to listen to Uglies a few months ago, but didn't like the narrators voice. So I bought the book & I hope to get to it...it's somewhere in my TBR pile.

3. Vacations from Hell - Bray
4. The Xibalba Murders - Hamilton

Are you liking Zipporah? I thought it was good. I have enjoyed reading about the women of the Bible by Halter.
