Once Upon A Time and Lara

James put a spell on her so that she wouldn't dream, before smiling slightly, "Of course you're not tired." He whispered, carrying them back to bed.

"I'm not tired." She let out a yawn again. She snuggled into James. "I have to stay up and protect you." She whispered. She listened to his heart beat. "I'm wide awake."

"Hi honey."
She pulled away and looked around after a second. "Where is Danny?"
He shrugged, "I don't know. He left. He told me to tell you that he loves you."
Sam frowned, "Why would he leave?" She looked at her hands, realizing just then that they were still pale. She reached up and hand and felt her fangs--still there. "Oh no..." She whispered. I'm so sorry Danny, I tried, I really did. I'm really sorry... She fell against the ground, crying.
James smiled, kissing her head gently. "I love you Calla." He whispered, moving closer to her on the bed.

"I'm not tired." She whispered following asleep. She snuggled to him.

James smiled, holding her gently as she fell asleep. "Rest well." He whispered, leaning back.

She snuggled into him. She smiled in her sleep.

"Married? I know honey. Its ok."
Sam raised a brow. "You knew?"
"Of course. Now you guys should leave. Sam you shouldnt be here because you are part vampire..."
James held her gently, falling asleep himself.

She slept without any dreams.

James shifted in his sleep, dreaming that everything went wrong. He lost everybody, and was trapped somewhere dark and cold, away from the world. He started to freak out. When he woke up, he was covered in a cold sweat and panting. He got up slowly, careful not to wake Calla, and walked into the hallway, pacing back and forth to try and calm down.

Calla was dreams were suppose to block away the nightmares. But there was leak. Something that didn't get quite filled in with his magic. She had the same dream this time. Then another one over again. She wanted to scream but she couldn't. She struggled in her sleep. Thrashing the pillows.

Since James was in the hallway, he did not notice Calla start to thrash around. He kept pacing back and forth in the hallway, running a hand through his hair. He was worried. Really worried. It couldn't be a coincidence that they both had had nightmares, could it?

She started to scream. She went deeper into the dream. Each time the same thing happened. He dies. They were at a ball. She looked around. The annual vampire ball. She looked to see who the new queen was. She stared. That wasn't right? Sam was the new vampire queen. Then before they switch partners. She uncovered the person who it was. Her faced paled at who did it. Why would she do it? Calla had tears coming down her face. Why would that person want him dead?

Sam smiled, "Ok. I just wanted to make sure." At his last question, she shook her head, "Not particularly no." She lied, though she couldn't hide the crimson in her eyes.
James heard her screams and he woke from his trance immediately. He ran into their bedroom and quickly scooped her into his arms. "Calla? Are you ok?" He asked, worried. He was confused as to why she could have had a nightmare, he thought he had put a spell up.

"Your lying your eyes are crimson" He whispered.
She opened her eyes up. "James I found out you killed you." She whispered. "The dream was clear this time." She was shaking. "I'm so scared. It was the annual vampire ball. The Vampire Queen was there. The funny thing is I haven't pointed one yet. Then we switch partners but I before she could kill you. I uncovered her hood. It was..."

James was listening carefully, knowing what she found out could be valuable information, especially if she had had a vision, and not a nightmare. "It was who?" He asked her gently, keeping his voice soft and low so as not to stress her out, "Who did you see Calla?"

"It doesn't make sense she wouldn't have the motive to kill you. She wouldn't kill you right? She's......" She paused. "I'm serious why would she kill you. Your her..... after all." She was nervous. "How would she get invited anyways."

James shook his head, he was confused, "Who was it? Who kills me Calla? Please calm down and tell me." He said gently, holding her hand.

"You will believe me after I tell you." She said. She didn't want him to laugh. and say it's not possible because she saw it and it's possible. She was afraid. "I will tell you then show you." She looked at him. "It was your....." She bit her lip.

"I'll believe you. Who did you see Calla? Please tell me." he begged her. He was on the edge of his seat and dying to know who she had seen by now, especially since she had said 'it was your...' My what? A relative? Friend? He thought to himself.

"It was your m-mm." She closed her eyes." I can't say it," she buried her face into his chest."I'm scared." She whispered. "I don't see why she would kill you. I mean she is your mom" she bit her lip. She said it. She closed her eyes tightly. "It's just a stupid nightmare."

James sucked in a sharp breath, frozen in shock for a moment. He shook his head again and again. "No... No it can't be... she wouldn't do that... she wouldnt... she's my... we trust each other... Calla please tell me you were lying." He asked pleading to her with his eyes.

She looked at him. He didn't want to believe her. She was hurt. "Why would I lie?" She asked getting up. "I have no reason to. Do you want me to show you?" She asked angrily. She looked at him. "I'm not lying baby." Tears came down her face, "it was just a dream ok."

"I didn't think you were lying, I just hoped in the back of my mind that you were." He said softly, trying to explain. With this news and Calla's shouting, James was quickly going into shock. He was staring straight ahead, barely moving.

She went over to him shaking. "James talk to me baby." She looked at him concerned. When her hand touch his face. She accident sent the dream to him. She didn't mean to. She felt awful about doing that. She didn't want him to see that. She was worried about him.

James moaned and fell against the bed, curling up. He wasn't the type to cry easily, so he just wrapped his arms around himself, his brow knit with fear.

She pulled away. "James baby talk to me." She asked nervously. She looked at him. "Please." She looked at him. "James talk to me."

James couldn't hear her. He was reliving the dream over and over, trapped inside. He would watch himself die, and then he would be the one dying, and then he would watch himself die again, and over and over and over. Every time it was the evil look on his mother's face as she stabbed him that caused him to tremble slightly.

She shook him. "James wake up." She said. "It's ok." When he didn't respond she started to cry. How was she suppose to go on without him? He would be like this forever. She didn't mean to. "James come back to me."

James didn't respond. He wasn't aware of what was happening around him. He could only see the dream, as if he was actually there. It kept playing over and over in his mind. He started to call for Calla. For the first time in his life he was actually full of terror.

"James I'm right here"She set his head on her lap. "Baby please come back." She whispered kissing his forehead. She had an idea. She closed her eyes and went into the dream. "James." She said looking at him. She ran over to him and hugged him, "Listen this is just a dream we can change the dream but not your fate ok. I will do everything to prevent it from happening ok."

James spun, surprised to see Calla in his dream. "Calla?" He asked. "Is that really you, or am I just dreaming you up?" He asked.

"Yes James it's me. We have to get you out of this dream. Your trapped in here because your afraid of what will happen." She didn't let go of him. "I have an idea but you will have to follow my league. Whatever happens to me you have to go back and wake up. And save me. Promise?" She asked.

James shook his head, "If I'm supposed to conquer my fears to get out, then some crazy suicidal attempt will not help. It'll just make me more afraid." he said seriously. He grabbed her hands. "Just stay with me ok? Here comes my mother." He was right. his mother came up and stabbed him with her knife. He gasped and bent over.

"James." She knew he will be ok. "Listen this isn't a death trap. I need you to listen to me." She said. She looked at herself. She was in a beautiful pink crown with a big necklace and a tiara. She had glass slippers in it. She picked him up off the ground."this time we will note switch partners we will simply dance like this. You have to get our of here to be able to do the next step. Remember this please. I love you and this will work."

James nodded hesitantly. "Ok. I trust you. You look beautiful by the way." He said, carefully taking her hand to start dancing with her.

"Thanks." She blushed. "Well after we stop this situation you'll see me in lots more gowns." She smiled a bit and followed his lead. When it came time to switch partners they didn't his mom stabbed her instead. "James wake up now and heal me. If you don't I will die. I believe in you baby."

James nodded. The dream swirled and faded and he woke up. His head was in Calla's lap, and they were in their room. He quickly sat up and put a hand over her wound, healing it. It used up all the energy he had, but he managed it.

She gasped for air. "You did it." She smiled. She hugged him. "Please don't scare me." She whispered. "I'm so glad you did it, I know you could." She was crying."I thought I was going to lose you in thought."

James hugged her back, resting against her. "Yes, I did. I'm still here. We are both alive. I'm sorry for scaring you." He said softly, smiling a little bit.

"I think it's time we have a talk with your mom." She whispered. She looked at him. "Never ever do that again." She showed him the fear in her blue eyes.

James nodded, smiling. He brushed her bangs away, "Ok. I promise." he told her gently, kissing her. "I love you Calla."

"I love you to James." She whispered. "I'm ready to talk to your mom."

James nodded. "Ok." He teleported them there. "Mom?" He asked.
"Yes darling? It's nice to see you again." She said, putting down her cooking utensils and running up to hug James. He hugged her back, forgetting all about why they were there.

"James sorry to break this up but we have business to talk about." She said breaking up their hug. She pushed James back. She wasn't going to let him die.

James looked at her for a moment, before remembering.
"What are you talking about?" His mom asked.
"Um..." he fidgeted awkwardly. "Calla had a dream, that um... well..."
"Yes?" She asked.

"This dream involved someone killing James." She said staring at his mother coldly. Her eyes quickly flicker with flames. She would do anything to protect him.

"Oh that's awful! Do you know who it was? I would hate to have my son in danger." She said, looking over at James with worry.
James frowned a little bit. He grabbed Calla's hand and pulled her to the side. "So what now?" He whispered. "Do you know what is going on?"

"Yes we do know who it is." She said looking at her. "It was you. Care to explain." Her eyes grew brighter. Her body heated up. She was ready to kill her on the spot.

James' mother took a step back as if she had been struck. "W-what?" She asked. "Y-you would accuse me of such a thing?" Her hands started to tremble and she backed up a bit, looking like she was on the verge of tears.
James was confused. He didn't know what to do. His mom looked innocent, but he had also seen the dream for himself.
"But I'm not tired." She protested. She looked at him. She let out another yawn. Her eyes slowly started to close.
