Once Upon A Time and Lara
Her was beating really fast. "I love you too." She smiled. She hugged him tightly. "Sam's a mermaid?! She better not have their powers because I won't have her drown you. I don't care if she is my friend. She better not hurt you.""Ok Princess,but Calla looks angry." She was giving them a death stare.
Sam grinned and swam over. "Hey Calla, I hope you aren't worried about me being a real mermaid," she said, splashing her tail. "I'm a shapeshifter, remember? Besides, the siren's powers only work on the man they love." She giggled, "Watch." She began to sing the siren's song. Danny immediately slumped and his eyes glazed over. James noticed and he shook his head, "Why is only he affected, and not me?"
"Because I don't love you." Sam explained. The second she had stopped singing, Danny perked up again.
"I'm not worried about you being a real mermaid. Who would of told you that lie. Mermaids are ok it's the sirens in more worried about because they are way more common. My grandma on my moms side was a siren. So that's why my aunt talked you in becoming dark Sam she can do to anyone. My mom could though she didn't use it. I'm not sure if I can. I never really tried." She felt like her moment with James was over.Danny swam over to where they were. "I felt like blanked out for a few minuets. Does anyone know why?"
Sam nodded to Calla, "Well, you could try, if you wanted to, just don't turn anyone dark, please."Then she turned to Danny, "Yeah, you did. I may have done that..." She said slowly, "Don't worry, wont do it again. I just needed to show Calla that I wasn't going to hurt James." She said honestly.
James looked over to Calla, "So you are part siren?"
"I don't know. Like I said I never really tried it before. I do sing. I don't sound good though. I only remember bits and pieces of the sirens song." She sighed."So what did you do to me Princess?"
Sam turned to to Danny, "Um, hehe, I sang to you?" This was true, partially. Sam turned to Calla, "You should try, Sam. I can sing with you if you would like, to help you along."
James shook his head, "Ok fine, but tell me before you start singing so I know why I blank out." He asked.
"Ok Sam I know the beginning of it." She nodded her head. "James I'm about to sing." She started to sing the song she knew some of it. She couldn't tell if it was working for James.Danny zoned out as he heard Sam sang. He felt like he would do anything for her. He was ready at her beckon call. He just stared and waited for a command.
James could feel himself passing into a daze. He relaxed, his only thought was that he loved Calla, and he was waiting for her command. Sam kept singing, encouraging Calla along. She smiled as she saw both boys pass into a daze. Calla was doing just fine.
She felt had eyes closed tightly. She didn't want anything bad happening to anyone because she wanted to see if she was part siren. She opened her eyes to see James staring at her. This felt wrong. It didn't feel right to do. She just went right along singing. She was beginning to panic. How about if something went wrong. Her face grew pale.Danny stared at Sam. She had a pretty voice. He loved her. He must be patient to find out what she wants of him.
James was staring at Calla. All he wanted was to hear her wish. Sam finished the song. The boys were still in a daze, and they would be until the girls commanded something, "Danny, snap out of it." She told him. "Calla, you have to tell James to wake up."
She heard her words. She couldn't bring herself to say anything. She was terrified on what she did. She was beginning to like it though. Having someone at her beckon call would be great. She told herself not to think these thoughts. Danny snapped out of it."What happened?"
"I sang to you, again." Sam explained to Danny. James was still waiting for Calla's command.
"Calla!" Sam said, "Look, this was just supposed to be for fun. Don't you want someone who will love you for real? And not some mindless zombie?" Sam asked.
Calla couldn't move. She was frozen with fear. She was beginning to like though. She felt something bad happening. She shouldn't of use this power. She closed her eyes. Saying that she was a good witch. She couldn't bring the words to come out of her mouth."What is wrong with her?"
Sam shook her head, "I don't know." She turned to Calla, "Calla, if you can hear me, show it. You need to snap out of it. Come on. Get control of the power. Just say something, anything, and James will be free."James was still staring, wondering why his master was not responding.
She couldn't get any words to come out of her mouth. What has she done? She felt the power slowly taking over her. She started to shake. She was not becoming dark. Her aunt was playing mind tricks with her. She opened her eyes. James wanted to do something for her. He would do anything for her. "Sam something went wrong. Do you think somehow she thinks she did something wrong or maybe darkness is trying to takeover. Even both." He looked at Sam.
Sam nodded, "Maybe. Calla, you did not do anything wrong." She said encouragingly, "You were just playing around with me, to try something out. I promise, nothing you did was wrong. Calm down and think. You were just singing! That's all. Nothing dark or bad. Do you understand me? You are good, we all know that." James was still under the spell.
She couldn't hear what she said. "James my love go outside the pool and jump in." She felt power coming her voice. It wasn't her voice. Something was happening she felt herself slipping away."Sam we have to do so something."
James obeyed her. Sam nodded, "I know." She turned to Calla, "I'm really sorry, I know I said I would never do this, but I have to." Sam focused on James. Come on, you have to convince yourself that you love him for just right now. Then you can go back to loving Danny. She focused, and then began to sing.
James' attention suddenly turned from Calla to Sam. Sam was his new master.
Sam stopped singing, "James, snap out of it, and don't ever fall under the power of the siren song again."
James woke up and rubbed his head, "What on earth happened? Why was I out for so long?"
"Calla went a bit power crazy." Sam explained, pointing to her.
James shook his head, "Great. So why am I awake?"
"I sang to you."
"But that only works if..."
"I know, I convinced myself of it for the time being. I do not love you anymore. But regardless, I hope Calla doesn't get angry at me." She turned to James, "You are now immune to the effects of the siren song." She told him.
James stopped listening to her and went for Sam. She could feel something break inside of her over and over again. She felt the power eating at her. No one is immune to sirens affects. She started to sing again to James. She put all her power into it. She used her best voice to break the tie that Sam had on James."What is happening? I think you might her mad her upset. Something is wrong."
"I don't know what is going on." Sam said honestly. She swam over to Calla and laid a hand on her arm, "Calla, you need to stop."
James felt like he was tied to two different people, and was being pulled between them. He couldn't decide whether to listen to Sam or Calla. Both of their magic had a strong hold on him.
Sam felt something inside her. It was her magic. Calla had not completely broken the tie between James and her, she was just pulling on it, trying to break it. Sam gasped. Her magic was strong, but Calla's was putting up a good fight. Sam knew she shouldn't have made that connection to James, but it was too late. She could not take it away, and now Calla was trying to tear it right out of her. Sam sighed, suddenly feeling very weak, and she fell into the water, sinking to the bottom of the pool.
"James my love to out of the pool and jump in." She command using all her power. She knew she broke the tie. Power was taking over her body again. "Sam." He dove underwater fast as he could. He got up to the surface with Sam. "Princess it's ok. I promise we will stop Calla and things will go back to normal.
James obeyed. He had only one master now. The other one was gone. He could not feel her power anylonger.Sam moaned, "Danny?" She blinked open her eyes. "Calla. She broke it. She broke the tie. My magic. It's broken. It's up to you now Danny. You have to stop her." She sighed, relaxing back in his arms, her eyes fluttering shut.
She didn't feel like herself. She was in shock what has she done. "James my love..." She looked around."Danny why is Sam laying in your arms and why is James staring at me?" She felt confused. She remember singing than she didn't remember what happen after that."You don't know do you. You almost killed Sam. Wait your not kidding when you don't know."
She shook her head.
"Tell James to wake up."
"James please wake up." She gasped for a breath. She felt everything was gone."Tell Sam I'm sorry." She felt herself sinking in the pole. She closed her eyes. She didn't know what happened. She wonder why she didn't remember what happened. It is too late for that. She felt gone.
James snapped out of it again, "Ok... What happened this time?!?" He saw Calla sink into the pool, and then he saw Sam in Danny's arms. He grabbed Calla and pulled her to the surface. "What is wrong with them?" He asked Danny.Sam moaned, she couldn't see anything, just blackness everywhere. "Danny? Where did you go? What happened? Please help me." The emptiness inside her felt like a hole that was sucking her in. Into the void, towards the darkness. She tried to get away from it, but she couldn't it was a hole inside herself. The hole Calla made. "Danny, don't let it get me!" She groaned.
Calla felt herself be bought to the surface. She felt like her heart stopped along time ago. "Princess. I won't let go of you." He didn't know what to do. He leaned forward and kissed Sam. "James take Calla somewhere please. I don't want to burn you eyes." He took a deep breath. He let the light over come him and Sam. He kissed her again. Letting the light soak in.
James brought Calla out of the pool and into another room. "Calla, are you ok?" He asked. He was worried now. Sam could feel light. She could feel it, but she couldn't see it. Then it started to soak into her. She was soaking it up like a sponge. It slowly illuminated and filled the void again. She kissed Danny back with what little energy she had left. She was alive, but she was trembling from the trauma. She was too weak to do much yet.
She felt her heartbeat was going quickly. She knew is slow down. She couldn't remember what happened. She couldn't move. She could hear someone talk to her. She didn't know who or what they wanted. She slipped away into a dark void."Princess are you ok? Calla said she was sorry. She doesn't remember what happen. I don't know if Calla is ok. She looked like she was dead when James took her to a different room." He had to tell Sam the truth.
James looked at her, concerned. If this had something to do with magic, he would not be able to help. "Calla?" he asked again, "Calla, are you ok?"Sam was confused, Calla had won their magic battle, so why would she be dead? That didn't make any sense, "Yeah." She whispered, "I think I am ok. But I don't have much of my energy back yet. If something is wrong with Calla, I will not be able to help." She whispered honestly.
She had no power left. She felt her body limp. She thought she was dying. She gulped. She couldn't move. She heard someone talking. She didn't know who though. She tired to stay focus. She found her self drifting away more."I'm not sure Princess. She probably used all of her power to break that tie you had with James. I'm going to take you to see her." He got out of the pool and went to the room James was in. "Is she ok?"
"Sam, Danny! Do you guys know what is wrong with her?" James asked. He was starting to panic.Sam looked at Calla and her stomach knotted. This was not good. Out of the four of them, she and Calla were the most powerful, and if both of them were weak, it would not be good. Sam still had her tail, but she didn't have enough energy to get rid of it. "Danny, you need to be ready to take me back to the pool every now and then, or I will dry out. For now, I'll see what I can do for Calla."
Sam moved over to her, and spoke into Calla's mind so that she would hear her, Calla, can you think to me like I am to you, and tell me what is wrong? I can not help you if I do not know what you need.
She heard Sam's voice. Dying She drift farther away from reality. "Ok. Princess what did she say?"
Sam winced, "She's dying.""What!" James exclaimed. "Help her!"
"I can't I'm not strong enough." Sam said quietly. "At least on my own I'm not."
Her face was a deathly pale. She could hear voices now,but barley. She told her self she needed to stay here. She can't die. She had to stay. Need to stayShe said to Sam. Her power was almost gone. Her breathing slowed down."Sam what can we do. I have little power too." He felt bad for James."Jamss Call is strong she will be ok." He hoped.
I know, we are doing what we can. Sam responded. "Danny, we can combine our energy and put some into Calla. It should be enough for her to latch onto and come back." She said.
"Hurry up and do it!" James exclaimed. He held Calla's hand.
Please hurry She drifted away now. They had to hurry. She was barley breathing now."Ok Princess." He walked over near Calla. He put his hand on her and started giving her his power.
Sam put her hand on Danny's and began to add her power to his. Combined, it would be twice as strong. Hang in there Calla.James looked at the light encompassing Danny and Sam's hands, and he had to close his eyes. He backed up a bit, his eyes burning from the light.
She felt a light dragging her back. She held on to that light and let go through her. Her breathing was picking up. She felt that she was there. The light was so bright. Even when her eyes were closed. She felt heat coming back to her. Her wrist flinched."Princess I don't have much more left." He paused."She just moved her wrist."
Sam gasped, she was running out of energy quickly, "Yes, we can stop now. She will be ok." She moved her hand away from Calla. James moved to Calla's side as the light dimmed, "Calla?" He asked, "Are you ok now?"
Sam turned to Calla, You will be ok now. You just need to rest for a while. Then she lay back against the tiles. She hadn't realized how long she had been out of the water. It was getting harder and harder for her to breathe. She flopped her tail against the ground, "Water!" She gasped.
She fluttered her eyes. "James." She whispered in a weak voice. "Ok Princess." He took her back to the pool. "So Princess how long will you be here."
James hugged Calla, "You're alive!" He exclaimed. "Oh thank God! You're alive!" He looked at her, "Calla, I was so worried."Sam splashed thankfully in the water, wetting her hair again. Finally she swam over to the edge of the pool and looked up at Danny, "I'm stuck here until I have enough energy to change back." She said honestly.
She opened her eyes. "James what happened?" She asked weakly. She felt tired and weak."Well good thing you have me because I won't leave your side." He said with a smile.
James shook his head, "I don't know. You were dying, I think." He sighed, "You kept singing, and then Sam tried to take control of me so that she could release me from you, but then you took me back, which broke both your and Sam's magic." He shook his head, "At least that is what Sam and Danny said."Sam beamed, happiness flooding her. She had been worried about being stuck in the pool by herself. "I love you so much Danny." She said. "You know, you did kiss me while I was a mermaid. That means you can breathe underwater."
"I remember I was afraid because you just were staring at me. Then something happened. I thought I did something wrong." She blinked tears were coming down her face."I also heard a legend if you kiss a mermaid you have to be with them forever." He jumped into the pool. "I guess you will have to put of with me forever." He smiled at the thought of forever.
James held her close, "Shhhh, it's ok now. It is going to be ok."Sam laughed, "Yeah, I guess I will" She liked the thought of forever. They had all of eternity together. No limitations at all. She splashed and swam around, "Did it work? Can you breathe under water?" She asked Danny.
His voice was like music to her. "Everything will be ok." She repeated the words."I snapped when Sam said I'm suppose to be good. I'm supposed to be dark,but I chose light."She let the tears roll down her cheeks."Yes does work Princess."He swam underwater and came back up. "See."
"No one is supposed to be dark Calla. We are all supposed to be good. Some chose the way of darkness. Others chose the way of light. Just like you did. Just because you inherited dark powers, does not mean you are dark, ok? You are good." James said encouragingly.Sam laughed, "So cool. Now you have that power permanently." She swam a circle around him, and then jumped out of the water like a dolphin, splashing as she went back in.
She leaned her head."I know,but I don't remember why I snapped. I don't remember almost killing Sam. What I do know is that power could come in handy." She said with a weak grin."Well that's nice." He looked at her. "You look pretty with a tail. I think you looked prettier with legs if that is possible."
James nodded, "I think you got mad at her because she sang to me, and it worked. And please, please, don't do that again." He said, shaking his head and grinning. Sam smiled, "Well thank you, Charming. I can't wait to get my legs back, actually. I like the air better than the water. That is why flying was always my favorite power." She admitted, "You feel so free, and alive. Like nothing can hurt you..." Her voice drifted off.
"I'm sorry I don't remember getting mad. I do remember hurting really bad. I felt my whole world was coming to the end."She put a weak smile on her face. "If I could get that power under control maybe it could help us in the war.""Your welcome Princess." He looked at her. "Im bored."
Sam laughed, "I have more than enough now. And besides, when we are done playing around, I'll take it back."
