"Well um..." She couldn't speak. She froze. "James please say something." She was staring at Danny."What you weren't going to say so why not let me do the honors."
"It wasn't your place." She squeezed his hand tighter.
She guessed everything. "I would like to speak to you alone, Calla." James flinched a bit, "You better go." He said.
Sam slid her hand into Danny's, "You probably shouldn't have said anything." She whispered.
She nodded her head. She was frighten. She didn't know what was going to happen. "Yeah what do you want to talk about?""I know,they weren't going to say anything."
"Do you love my son?" She asked.James looked around, bored, but nervous for what might happen.
"And for a good reason." She said. She sighed, "I love you. But you can be outspoken." She said smiling slyly at him.
"Well yeah I do. Why wouldn't I? He is everything to me. He is all I have left other than Sam. I have no family." She sighed."Mmmm, what ever you say Princess." He said with a smile.
She nodded, "Ok. I had to make sure. I know he is better looking than most boys..." She winked, "I had to make sure it wasn't just because of that."Sam smiled and looked down shyly, twirling the hem of her dress around. She changed back into her old clothes for convenience sake. She felt so protected around Danny. It was nice for a change.
"Well to say something I never had time to get to know other boys." Of course she liked him for who he was. Do people only date for looks."Why did you change? Words could not describe how you looked in that dress." Then he paused."Do you think we should tell them about um?" How he has magic now.
She nodded, "Thank you Calla. Could you send James in here to me, please?" She asked.Sam smiled, "Aw thanks. I'll wear it again, don't worry. Just right now it didn't seem practical." Then she nodded, "Eventually, but I don't think now is a good time." She said.
She nodded. She went to James."Your mom wants you." She grabbed his hand. "Yeah." He nodded his head slowly. "So Princess it seems like we are alone for awhile."
James nodded, "Ok." He walked into the house. "What is it Mom?" He asked. "Do you love that girl?" She asked.
"Yeah, i do."
"Really love her?"
James tipped his head, "What kind of question is that?"
"I want you to be happy." She said, laying a hand on his arm.
"I will be, Mom. I know what I am doing."
She nodded, "Ok, then I approve."
"What about Father?"
His mother looked up, "He... He went out to search for a captured hunter a couple years back." She said quietly. "He never came back."
James shook his head, no. This couldn't be happening. He ran outside and through the trees until he was alone. Then he sat down and cried into his hands.
"Yeah." She said, agreeing, "Looks like it."
She didn't let go of his hands as they went to talk to his mother. Then he ran off. He was gone before she could say something. She had to get to him before her Aunt got to him. She did what she did when she ended up here with. She thought about him. Then she was there with him. "James." She ran up to him and sat by him. "Shh it will be ok." She hugged him tightly."So Princess, I'm hungry. I never got that home cook meal." He said joking.
James shook his head, ashamed to be crying, but unable to stop. His father, his only father, dead. "Sure, we can go get it." Sam said smiling. "Just teleport us back to the mountains, who knows, it may still taste good." She grinned.
"He could still be alive." His mother never said he was dead. She said he didn't come back. "Shh I promise we will find him if we can." She hugged him tighter. "How do I do that?"
James looked up, she could be right. What if his father was alive? "Ok." He said."Just imagine where you want to be." She told him.
"James please don't become like me. When my parents died I shut everybody out. Until I met you." She quickly dropped the subject. "Did you know you mom thought I liked you for your looks. Do people really like other people for their looks?"He nodded. He thought of that home cook meal they were making. Then they were there. His skin was glowing."I did it." He said smiling.
James nodded. And then he looked up, "Yeah," He said. "I believe they call it 'love at first sight' or something crazy like that.""Yes, Charming, you did." She grinned. She walked over to the food and heated it up again with her magic. "Well? You hungry?"
"Do couples really have songs?" She never had time to notice."Well of course I'm hungry my Princess." He walked over to her.
"I wouldn't know. I have never dated someone before..." He said softly. Sam grinned. She handed him a plate stacked with meat and potatoes, taking one for herself as well. She sat down at the table. Arae slid over to her Where have you been?
I have been busy. Sam apologized.
We have been lonely without you.
Sam stroked Arae's head, "Missed you too."
She took a big bite of her steak. "Mmmmm."
"Sure haven't. That's why your the professorial kisser." She want believing word he said. You Sam kissing in a tree. "Shutup. This is good Sam. This dragon is so annoying. How does anyone put with someone that annoying?"
"Hah, yeah. She wasn't officially dating me, we just kissed once." He said, rubbing a hand over the back of his neck. Sam grinned, "I don't know, I just don't know." She shook her head.
I know how. You put up with him, don't you?
Sam shoved Arae's nose away. "That was mean." She said. But she couldn't help grinning.
"So who was the better kisser. Me or her?" She looked at him. With that innocent little girl look she gave him sometimes. She sat there waiting for answer. "If you say her I can change your mind." She said with a big grin on her face. She leaned forward and kissed him."Yeah I don't know." He shook his with disgust. Kiss already. "This dragon wants us to kiss already. Keep your mind in your business." Maybe you should follow your own advice."This dragon says I should follow my advice."
James felt the heat rise again. He put his arms around Calla and let himself get lost in the kiss. Finally he pulled away and whispered hoarsly, "You."Sam blushed. This dragon was just as outspoken as Danny was sometimes. She looked at him shyly, "Then why don't you?"
Her face turned beat red. She could tell he was lost in the kiss. Then he said you. She whispered"Thank you." Then she went back to his kiss. Her body felt like it was on fire.He got up from where he was. He leaned forward at Sam and kissed her,
James moved his hand to the back of her neck, drawing her closer. Finally he moaned softly and pulled away, "We seriously need to get this wedding thing planned. And soon."Sam stiffened at his touch. She was still un-used to this whole romance thing. But she loved him. She wanted to feel safe, and protected.
She didn't want to stop. She want the kiss to last forever. "Do we have to stop kissing?" The kiss was so sweet. He didn't want it to stop.He pushed her closer to him. He felt his body glowing more.
James grinned, "Don't tempt me, Calla." He said softly, "I don't have that much self control." He looked into her eyes, "We are not yet married."Sam felt a rush of excitement as he pulled her closer. She melted against him, letting down all of her guards she had built around herself since her parents had died. He was so warm... This was the first time they were actually able to kiss, without being interrupted, and for real.
"Yeah that doesn't mean we can't kiss" She didn't want to the kissing to end. She still was giving him that innocent girl look. His body felt warmer as they were close together. They had no interruptions. It was perfect. Too perfect. He didn't care. He wanted to stay like this forever
James laughed. "You really know how to get what you want." He shook his head, "Just for a little longer." He bent in again, wrapping her lips in his. Sam could feel her powers moving in her. It was like she and Danny were connected, connected and stronger when they were together. She shivered in excitement. She had never been this close to another boy. Or anyone, for that matter. It felt good.
She loved the feeling of his kiss. She didn't want to stop. She didn't say a word.Power was all over him. It felt so good. They were alone for once.
James kept it up for a minute longer before he finally looked over, "I think we should ask my Mom she is going to help us in the war." He said. Sam broke away and looked up at him. His eyes were glowing turquoise, and his whole body glowed softly. She smiled, "As much as I want to continue... we should probably work on training our dragons again. Seeing as the last session didn't go too well." She paused, remembering what had happened.
She nodded her head. She longed for it to continue. "Can't we just have one more kiss?" It was like a drug for her. It got better every time. She needed more of it to keep going."Yeah your probably right. Shouldn't we go back to check on Calla and James. I just don't want her aunt to come along."
James smiled and shook his head, "Later. Come-on, we have a job to do." He walked slowly back towards the cottage. Sam closed her eyes, scanning the land for any signs of trouble, "Calla and James look fine, and her aunt is not anywhere near her. I think they will be ok. So, shall we go get started?"
"Awe ok." She followed him. "One more kiss please." Using her innocent little girl voice again. She grabbed his hand."Ok. What do you want to do now?"
James rolled his eyes. Was that all this girl wanted to do? He was about to give her her wish when his mother opened the door to the cottage again. "Can you help us?" James asked.His mother thought for a second, "I can see what I can do." She said. "Where do you want those who can help to go?"
"Well, since you haven't ridden your dragon yet, I thought you might want to try flying." She asked.
"The dragon castle." She simply said. She felt bad. She knew that's all he thinks she wants to do is kiss. "Ok Princess. After you."
She raised a brow, "The dragon castle?"James nodded, "I believe Sam called it Flahendiel."
"Oh yes." She nodded,"Ok. We will be there." She said.
James smiled, "Thanks."
"No problem honey." She said, before closing the door.
Sam laughed and lept onto the white dragon's back. Arae was ready for a flight, and took off instantly with a huge gust of wind. Sam shouted in excitement, "Woooohoooo! Com'on Danny! Race you!"
She should say something. She started to walk away. He was mad at her. She knew that. She walked slowly looking at the ground. She didn't mean to lead him to believe that all she was interested in was kissing. She loved him for everything."Ok that's a challenge I accept. Sorry to say I don't let anyone win. That includes Princesses." He hopped on to Spot. He took off with ease.
Calla had started walking already. James jogged to catch up with her. "You ok?" He asked. He was worried that he had done something to hurt her. Sam laughed, "Ha, Charming, I don't let others win either." She was already two wing lengths ahead of him, and Arae was fast.
She nodded her head yeah. She couldn't help think that she would end up hurting him or even worse get him killed. That is what happen to her parents. All because she was destine to be a great and powerful witch."Mmmmmm that's what you say. " He was in front of her. "Catch me now."
"You're not telling me something." He said. He could tell that something wasn't right, "Come on, are you telling me you don't trust me enough to tell me about it? I'm here for you Calla, you can tell me about it." He urged her.Sam and Arae did a roll upside down and over top of Danny. Sam winked at him as she flew directly over him, and then finished the roll in front of him again. "You'll have to try harder than that." She shouted back to him, grinning.
"I'm not hiding anything from you." She quickly picked her speed up. She looked at the ground."Yeah what is that you said." He was yet again head of her.
"Liar." James jogged to catch up with her again, "Come on, just tell me." Sam rolled her eyes, grinning. She urged Arae faster. The two dragons were neck in neck, pumping their wings furiously to get ahead. The entrance to the outside was getting closer....
"I don't want to hurt you ok. I can tell all you think I want to do with you is kiss. I'm not that kind of person. I don't want my aunt getting to you. I don't want her killing you the way she did my parents." She was about cry."I can't lose you.""Come on Spot." They were almost there. Who will win?
James was suddenly serious, "Oh Calla, I know you aren't that kind of person, I was just worried there for a moment. I am tough, remember? I can handle myself around your aunt." He hugged her, "We'll make it through this, ok?"They dashed through the opening together, and Sam laughed with glee, spiraling up into the sky at a frightening speed. When she reached a height above the clouds, Arae paused, floating for a second before tucking her wings in and doing a nose dive towards the earth. Sam screamed in excitement.
"I can't lose you. Your all I have left." Tears were coming down her face. She hugged him tightly. He followed Sam. It felt so amazing. Free falling. This took that to a next level.
"I know." He said, "I'm not going anywhere." He promised her.Sam let her legs fall away from Arae's neck, so that she was only holding on by wrapping her hands around one of Arae's neck spines. She grinned. It was scary, yet exhilarating. When Arae curbed the dive at the ground, Sam slammed into her body, and pulled her legs up and around her neck again.
Tears were coming down her eyes quicker. She snuck a yawn in there. "You keep asking a bout this wedding. I'm not going to talk about a wedding until you propose to me." When they landed he jumped off of Spot."I'm the winner." He declared.
James laughed, "I'm waiting for the right moment." He grinned, raising a brow. Sam hovered, "No way. Just cause Spot's fast, doesn't make you the better rider..." She grinned at him. "What have you got Charming?" She asked.
"Ok." She yawned again."Are we there yet?""Well let me see. I got the a Princess for a girlfriend. I got a annoying dragon. Did I say I got the most beautiful girlfriend?" He had a big smile on his face.
Sam frowned, this situation was beyond awkward.
