which cat helped hawkfrost lead firestar into the near-fatal trap (in sunset)? if you don't remember, at the end of sunset, just after hawkfrost dies, his voice echoes inside brambleclaw's head, saying that someone in thunderclan was disloyal and helped him. any ideas who it was?

i myself think that it was ashfur. he was mad at brambleclaw (mad at the world) for "stealing" squirrelflight away, as he thinks, and it was birchfall, ASHFUR's apprentice, who told firestar that blackstar was on thunderclan territory, therefore leading firestar to the twoleg fox trap thing. even though ashfur is not mad anymore and much nicer in the sight, i still think it was him... it makes sense and who else could it be?
I actually think( I know this is wierd) that Stormfur might have helped. Think about it. He was in RiverClan for a time, and even though he might have hated Hawkfrost, it could have been an act. I know Stormfur isnt like that, but who knows?
That's an interesting theory. But what does Stormfur have against Firestar?
I just realized something. I was re-reading Moonrise, and at the beginning, it is in Stormfur's view. He has just woken up in the cave in the sun-drown-place, and he is looking around. He sees Brambleclaw sleeping next to Squirrelpaw (at the time) and he feels a twinge of jealousy. Here is the exact quote: "Nearest the cave entrance, Tawnypelt's brother, Brambleclaw, was stretched out beside Squirrelpaw, who slept in a tight ball. Stormfur felt a stab of jealousy at the sight of the two ThunderClan cats close together, and tried to push it away. He had no right to admire Squirrelpaw, and her courage and bright optimism, as much as he did, when they came from different Clans. Brambleclaw would make her a much better mate."
It's not much, but it's a start. Maybe Stormfur, like Ashfur, saw something in Squirrelpaw and was mad at Brambleclaw. It seems a bit drastic, and too much for nice Stormfur, but it could explain what he has against Firestar.
Yes, and Hawkfrost did mention before he died that there were supporterS. Not jsut a supporter. supporters. So they both could have helped.
That means that Stormfur is a really good actor.

no it was Ashfur. he was mad at Squirrelflight for liking Brambleclaw instead of him, so he helped Hawkfrost try to kill Firestar to get back at her.
Yea. It was announced a while ago that it was, indeed, Hawkfrost who confided in Ashfur to kill Firestar.
I dont understand why ashfur would want firestar dead though, it was his daughter not he that made ashfur jealous...just a thought.
To hurt Squirrelflight. It was Hawkfrost who tricked him into it. Ashfur didn't make the plans. I think it also said he fealt guilty about it somewhere to... *ponders*

Actually, if you look it up on the Warriors Wikipedia (highly recommended website) it says that Stormfur was actually the first one to love Squirrelflight!I just don't know why everyone assumes that Ashfur is stupid or a murderer or whatever. I know he tried to kill Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Squirrelflight, but, hey, people do crazy things for love too. Ashfur was a loyal, brave warrior, before he went cuckoo, and that counts for something.

Yes, it says that in Moonrise that Stormfur loves Squirrelflight but he sees that Brambleclaw loves her too and he knows that they would be better together cuz they are in the same Clan.
Ashfur has nothing to do with the trap to kill Firestar, It was all Hawkfrost. He knew that Brambleclaw was deputy, and thought that if he got rid of Firestar, he would have an inside connection to Thunderclan, and would be able to take over all the clans with Brambleclaw's help, but he was wrong.

Tigerstar and Hawkfrost spyed on ThunderClan, trying to find a suitable accompliss for their plan. Ashfur was the most suitable, as Ashfur was mad at Squirrelflight. She had betrayed him. He wanted get revenge on her in any way possible. The two of them used Ashfur to their advantage and told him to lead Firestar to spot where the fox trap was.

True, but Ashfur was still a key character in getting the plan to work. Without him they never would have a cat to lead Firestar to the trap.

OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK! It's my fav! And I've read all of 'em so...did anyone else think this book was awesome? I was at the edge of my seat while reading...my mom couldn't pull me away from it! Also, does anyone know if there are going to be any Warriors books meetings? ...or if the Erin Hunter group are coming to Utah to speak? Does ANYONE else live in Utah? Oh, an by the way, it was Ashfur.

I know why! Ashfur didn't want to be blamed for this and would think Squirrelflight would hate him for the rest of her life. He wanted to make it seem like Brambleclaw killed Firestar so Squirrelflight would hate Brambleclaw. So, he asked his apprentice to go tell Firestar that Blackstar was in their territory. Of course, Birchpaw was confused but he did it.
Ashfur! he doesn't like Brambleclaw so he wants revenge on him for taking Squirrelflight away from him.
No! Ashfur wasn't mad at Brambleclaw. He was mad at Squirrelflight for going to Brambleclaw instead of him.
