Kenzie My goal is to read 40 books this year! I'll read most anything, but Fantasy is my favorite. Suggestions are more than welcome!

Adriana | 3888 comments Does YA Fantasy count for you?

Kenzie Yes! I love YA Fantasy as long as it's well written like The Hunger Games or Divergent.

Jodi (readinbooks) | 1971 comments I really enjoyed Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman . It is a series but so far I have only read the first one.

Kenzie I haven't been in a reading mood lately so I'm behind on my goal, but I just read = Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor and [bookcover:Days of Blood & Starlight|12812550. I absolutely loved them both.

I thought it was going to be straight up fantasy romance, but it was so much more than that. I can't wait for the 3rd one to come out in April!

Kenzie I finally read Angels & Demons (Robert Langdon, #1) by Dan Brown

Friends have been suggesting it for forever, but I always avoided it because I really didn't like the movie. A lot of people told me that it was better than The Da Vinci Code, which I read back when everyone was going crazy over it and I enjoyed, and in some ways it is. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually enjoyed reading this. I probably would have liked it better if I hadn't had the twist at the end ruined for me by the movie, but all in all, I'm glad that I finally got around to reading it. I like Dan Brown's writing style. I especially love the combination of history and mystery.

Kenzie Brave New World by Aldous Huxley was selected for one of my goodreads book clubs. It took me a while to get around to it, but I finally had a chance to read it.

I've seen a lot of 5 star ratings from friends, but I couldn't bring myself to rate it that high. I would give it a 3.5/4. The main reason for this is that while I enjoyed reading it, I didn't actually care for the characters or the actual plot. However, I found the society to be fascinating.

Kenzie, I felt the same way! The story aspect could have been better, but it was interesting learning about this society.

Have you read The Testing (The Testing, #1) by Joelle Charbonneau ? Since you liked The Hunger Games, you might like this one too.

Kenzie I haven't even heard of that, but it sounds good, so I will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Kenzie I recently read The Help by Kathryn Stockett . I liked it a lot. I saw the movie and loved it, so I was pretty sure I would like the book. One of the things I thought was done better in the book was showing the ramifications of what would happen if they got caught. In the movie, they showed that it needed to be kept secret, but in the book it felt so dire and intense. I loved all of the characters, and the story that was told.

Kenzie I also just finished Dreams of Gods and Monsters (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #3) by Laini Taylor ! I loved it! I thought it was a good ending for the trilogy. There were some things that I felt were left unfinished, but all in all, it's a fantastic series, and I'm thinking about starting all over again from the beginning!
