I'm a little bummed since the last 15% will be bringing my rating down. I loved the first half of the book and then there were the few WTF moments in the second half. There's a few things I was hoping for that never happened...

It felt like the same book with the exception of the end. They started the contract the same. Same dates. Same everything really and she leaves him again. Granted he knew. So does that mean he knew where she was that whole year? Was the house bugged then?

And what happens with Victoria?

Too many holes and unanswered questions. And I can't wrap my head around the sheer magnitude of being a Barrington. Is that even possible? To have that much power?

I feel like this can't be the end of Blake and Lana's story.....right?

Here's where my thoughts are after finishing
(view spoiler)[THe one thing that will ultimately kill a book for me is when something is really built up only to be glossed over in the end. This is why the last 15% didn't work for me.

1. What happened with Victoria? The contract? The non disclosure? Lana was so careful not to tell him why she really left...all for what?

2. The fathers death. How? It's was basically BAM, he's dead announcement. WTF?

3. How did Blake know everything he did EXCEPT that Victoria visited her, the contract, and that she was pregnant.

4. He's killed his father but is still a part of 'the agenda'? Huh?

5. The brother that was never mentioned that was killed. Again...huh?

6. The hit and run being just that. That just seemed weird to me. Her mother survives cancer only to get killed in a hit and run? Was that really necessary? I dunno...I may be nitpicking here (hide spoiler)]

I do know that the author plans on focusing on other characters in the series but will also give us a continuation on Blake and Lana. I'm hoping maybe most/all of these questions would be addressed there. Though I would have MUCH more preferred to have that be resolved in this one.

I'm leaning towards a 3.5 stars with this one
