8% - so far an easy book to digest! Charlie is quite an interesting character and I like how the book reads as each letter carries on effortlessly from the previous letter and it doesn't feel as though you missed a thing!

Well this was a strange book! Which isn't a bad thing, I mean Charlie's mind was so peculiar, and sometimes he had these unusual reactions...I just, don't know what I would do if I had a friend like him.

I haven't watched the movie so based on the book alone, I made my judgement. It lost 2 stars for me because (view spoiler)[ there were some parts that were just strange in general. Charlie became addicted to smokes and drugs... It was out of character too

I watched the movie, and it was very similar to the book actually :) I mainly saw it because Emma Watson played Sam, whose personality was exactly like in the book :)

I eventually gave it 4 stars because of the ending, the conclusions Charlie got to, and (view spoiler)[ how he was going to be trying harder to fit in. I liked his family support :) (hide spoiler)]

Christina, he went (view spoiler)[ to the hospital because he was in a catatonic stage, and seeing that isn't very normal they might thought it was better to keep him there to have a better psychological help. (hide spoiler)] At least that was my conclusion.

Yep there were some redeeming qualities in the book but I still can't give it a 4, when compared to other books I gave 4 hehe

I always like to see the movie of the book, to compare and also because I like to see the pages come to life outside my head :) So if you have some spare time you should see it, a lot the things are very similar though, it really depends wheter you like watching a movie of a book :)

Oh and if I'm not mistaken, and I don't want to spoil it for you, but the ending in the movie is different, I think, it's been a while but I don't recall the last chapter on the movie.

Ooh I see! I'll probably watch it in the future, when I start forgetting some bits. That way I can enjoy the story all over again instead of watching now and judging every detail :P The ending should make things interesting!

Has anyone seen the film adaptation of this? I haven't, I wanted to read the book first to see how they compare. :)

I did see the film a while ago. I enjoyed it. Since I haven't read the book yet I don't know bow alike they are.

I saw the movie, really liked it. I do recall hearing that they are quite different, but I'm not completely sure of that.

I've read both the book and seen the movie. The movie is really good and it's interesting how its kind of set in the 90s and the characters are all so suited to their roles. The book is a bit darker and more confusing so it takes a bit of time to get your head around it but I would recommend the film :) it's not completely different to the book but there are some things that have been changed or left out, but definitely watch it after reading it :) I look forward to reading it again

I just finished the first letter that Charlie writes and (view spoiler)[ I find it bizarre that his friend died so young. I don't mean to sound stereotypical but you usually hear about this happening in the teenage years. Maybe this is a good thing, to make people more aware. I wonder what happened to his aunt, I'm sure that'll be revealed at some point though. (hide spoiler)]
