I read this on the kindle and finished it on the way home from Birmingham. It was good but I felt that Angels and Demons was better and that this sequel didnt live up to the first book.Plus,Langdon literally does EXACTLY the same thing.He runs around looking for clues to find an ancient secret while coming face to face with a powerful henchman from the bad side.He has a female accomplice who he always lays at the end of the novel.Im suspecting Brown recycles the same plotline in all of his books.
I was also dissapointed with the ending,which left me hanging and wasnt explained in the future novel(At least,it dosnt look like it will be,ive read a few pages).Does Langdon find the grail??All that build up wasted with a dissatisfying conclusion.
The ending aside, it was a nerve racking and cleverly written novel which did keep me up at night.Final rating: 4/5
