ABANDONED. YA/NA Book, College Characters, Guy can't get over girl!

Hi everyone! I am trying to recommend a book to a friend but I can't remember what it's called (so annoying!). I only remember part of the storyline... A guy goes to college, is in love with someone from home (I think?), but for whatever reason they are not together. The guy becomes friends with another girl, just friends, but after a while they end up getting together. The new friend/girlfriend falls hard for the guy but he never gets over the original girl. I'm sorry this is such little information, but it's all I can remember. It would be a book that is fairly new, from the last year or two. Please help!

okay, so I'm not convinced this is the book you are looking for, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. Even if it isn't, you may want to consider checking it out because it's really a good book.
