Greta | 2 comments Just letting you all know my book is on sale for 99 cents on Amazon! I'm just really looking for honest reviews!

Once bubbly twenty-one-year-old photographer Natalie Sullivan has just lost her boyfriend, Luke, in a tragic car accident. To honor his memory, she plans to embark on an epic road trip with her friends to the places he talked about, including Zion National Park, Valley of Fire, and more. But during the funeral, a girl bursts in claiming to be his real girlfriend, and on top of that- she is pregnant with his child. Natalie doesn’t know what else to do except hightail it out of town, but her car breaks down and her only ticket to escape is with Rhys, Luke's abrasive little brother who drinks whiskey out of a coffee mug.

Rhys, a seasoned outdoorsman, has issues of his own — his father blames him for the death of his favored son and admits he’s not even sure if he’s Rhys’s real dad. Through their devastation, an undeniable chemistry grows as they find solace in one another, and even though Natalie knows she must confront the other woman, now she must also decide if Rhys is just a temporary fix, or if they have something real together.

Megan O'Russell | 9 comments I'm sorry if I missed some advice earlier in the thread. I have a preview of my book available on Amazon, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the preview to add to my book's Goodreads page. All I can find online is that there has to be a preview available on Amazon in order for the process to work. I've got that bit, so now what? How I Magically Messed Up My Life in Four Freakin' Days

Not sure what you're asking. Putting books you've written on Goodreads in general, or putting up something for review in here?

Lexi, here's a thread that can help you in the Goodreads Librarians Group...I'm not sure you can add your own book yourself (I could be mistaken), but they can do it for you there.

Will Briggs | 3 comments Unsure about something. I've gotten 2 emails this week from persons saying they would review my book on request -- generic emails, made no mention of Goodreads, my book, my area -- that is, it looked spammy. It is, right?

If someone wants to review my book here, how *do* they contact me legitimately?

Tx.

message 62: by Ronald (new)

Ronald Geigle | 10 comments Not an expert here, but it seems that if they sign their name and give you access to a Goodreads or other site that shows their previous reviews, that's an important step. I believe there is a Facebook group for authors seeking reviews that allows you to post your book and a brief description. I found several reviewers for my novel this way. Ronald Lee Geigle

Sounds a bit suspicious, its your choice but I wouldn't send out a copy for free.

Good afternoon, I am a new member to Making Connections. Both of my novels, To the Swift and Loyal are listed on Goodreads. Can I have the correct cover photo for Loyal? The one listed here with my book doesn't match the actual cover and thumbnail.

Erik Swanson (eas94) | 6 comments Hello, everyone. I’m a class of 2013 graduate from Blackstone Valley Vocational High School. I pursued manufacturing there from 2010-13 because I didn’t get in till my sophomore year. I’m still in the manufacturing field with working as a machinist, plus working at Home Depot, but have branched out into other interests and endeavors. Next week on Thursday I’ll be appearing as a guest on the TV talk and variety show “Topic Time” with the host, Harrison Blake Young, to promote my writing, literary work, and discussing other things as well. So please check it out in Easton, Mass at the time to be announced. Then catch it off of YouTube from the Easton Community Access Television and Topic Time website. All together, I have written four books within the past three years. One being the first to a sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure series “Tales Of Alandria Bridging Of Worlds” and the other three “Lost Case Encounters” “Corrections Mayhem” and “Among Altin” being sci-fi horror novels, first one being a collection of three short stories of my own.

Juanita Graham | 3 comments Hello I am new you Goodreads and still learning how to navigate. I recently published a book and I am looking for reviewers that will review a book that's already published. I see lots of discussions about reviewing advanced copies, but does anyone know about reviewers for books already published and that will meet the guidelines/regulations for Amazon and Barnes & Noble reviews? Thanks in advance for your help.

J. Rubino (jrubino) With all due respect to the original post, and while I think having an author page is an excellent idea, I discovered that somehow someone other than myself produced "my" author page, apparently by curating data they found around the 'net. Not what I would want, not updated and I have been unable to make any changes or corrections. The information about acquiring "librarian status" was not helpful, nor were communications with Goodreads. In fact, I've found that my profile page is better, and would be more helpful to the public, than the author page.
A shame that the experience was so unsatisfactory, because otherwise, I really like Goodreads.

My mother has just brought out a new book. She wrote the book, I edited, formatted, listed on Amazon and am doing the promoting. Where can I list the book and how can I get ARRs for the book?

Many thanks

message 74: by Jeff (new)

Jeff S | 4 comments Hey all authors!

Does your book start "fast"? i.e. does it grab the reader on the first page?

If so, then it might make a good episode of The Page 1 Challenge podcast.

There is no charge to have your book featured on this quirky little podcast for book lovers. It just has to make us both look good. Not every wonderful book goes from zero to 60 on page 1, so don't feel bad if your book isn't a good fit.

Is it fair to judge a book by its first page? Of course not! But it is a fun, playful premise. This is a short-form podcast (usually under 5 minutes) and the definition of "page 1" is pretty loose.

Again - the goal is to make us both look good. We want listeners to like what they heard enough to go buy your book and keep coming back to the podcast. This is a fun/unusual marketing option. I'll also include links to your author website and Amazon (or other) book sales page in the podcast episode notes.

Check out a couple podcast episodes to see if you might want to participate. It's on all the usual podcast platforms Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link here, but you can also find the website easily enough and send me a message there or DM me here on GR.

Again - no charge or fee or anything. But also no guarantee that I'll feature your book. Fiction only please.
