Oh good :D

You've got prior engagements, as far as I remember.

Can you imagin that the first fruits from last year are slowly but surely turning yellow? I'm totally amazed by this. And there's already the first new bud for a flower and it's growing new limbs at the same time. Wow!

LOL. Switzerland is on the top of the list, of course. ;-)
Seriously, we've been talking about a road trip either in Central Europe or in US. But nothing is decided yet and I doubt it'll happen this summer. But we'll see.

Frustrated.
ALL of my pants/trousers/dress pants/jeans/shorts and what not don't fit me. I've held onto them for about two years now, old and brand new, hardly worn stuff too. I was hoping this sudden weight gain in my stomach would go away, but it hasn't. I'm mostly upset because I spent a lot of money on a lot of new pants two years ago when the old stuff was finally wearing out, only to have it fit me for a total of two months.
I'm cleaning out my closet and in the interest of space and moving, I feel like it's time to get rid of it all.
So, this leaves me with two pairs of yoga shorts, 4 pairs of yoga pants that look dressy casual, and one pair of I'll fitting dress pants I bought for a job interview last fall. I'm such an awkward size now nothing fits right!
Some of these pants were my faves, so I don't want to toss them, but if they're not going to fit me, why should I keep them? They're taking up precious space.
Ok, rant over. This has just been bothering me for awhile.

Last year I've given away several pair of trousers because I didn't want to feel any sort of pressure on me to fit in them again.
But exactly this morning I found out that I can wear again my old dresses, which I would have never thrown away, because my mother made them.
Probably it will happen also to you: you'll find the right time and the right thing to do about this or you'll decide that you are ok with the weight gain.

What an uplifting experience, Antonella, I actually envy you! I think after eleven years it is safe to assume that I will never get the weight from before pregnancy back. So I should follow Susinok's example and do a big clean-out. Our flat is small and stuffed, more room to breath would be great.

Well, I thought as well that the process was irreversible, that's why I had given away the trousers. I'm against diets and very much in favour of chocolate.
But the intermittent fasting suggested by Aleks was really the right thing at the right time for me to effortlessly get rid of the kilos I had put on in the last 4-5 years.

LOL! Anyway dancing is very good against stress...
My coworker, whom I love dearly, keeps insisting the weight is here to stay. I'm insisting it's not. But it sure ain't going anywhere! Fasting doesn't do anything for me, though I did hear that exercising before breakfast works. I'm just not a morning person. And I've got very little energy the rest of the day either. *sigh* I try to really exercise a lot, but I always slip to once a month which does no good. The walking is good, but I'm not keeping up with it as I used to.
I just don't want to throw away all ghat money I spent on clothes but I want the space back if they aren't going to be worn. My place is tiny!

I don't know if this will help in any way, but there's this website with tons of free exercise routines, in all types of time frames and styles (from cardio to yoga to etc.) and for all fitness levels. A friend of mine who's very very into fitness recommended it, and because i don't have the patience for it, she also sent me links to various routines, lol. She claims that 10 min of something intense is better than nothing, and i've managed to keep working out every other day for the past two-three weeks. I find it helps both with keeping the weight in check and even more importantly, since i sit most of the day, the stretches really help.

Drink two glasses of green juice a day. Change nothing else. And two weeks from now, I will guarantee you are feeling more energetic, happier, and you will have lost weight.
Why not try it? Just TRY it, Jordan. Come on! TRY IT.

Given the effect of stress on weight (and everything else to do with health) I believe this is absolutely true. Take that pressure off yourself and start listening to what your body is actually saying to you.
It sounds trite but I think we are all increasingly bad at listening to what our body is trying to say. One of the biggest changes in my life took place when I gave myself permission to sleep however long I needed to. I still have sleep issues, but not like I used to because now I feel relaxed about giving my body what it asks for -- WHEN it needs it.

That looks good. Videos show the exercises better than pictures. Thanks for the link! I think I'll try some of this. :)

I'm not going to tell you what to do, but what I am going to tell you, is that "the weight is here to stay" maxim isn't true. No matter how old you are, or how much weight you carry, there are ways to lose it. But it gets harder than when you are younger, it takes discipline and commitment and hard work. But then, almost everything in life does that. :)
But I don't believe in specialised diets or excerising at certain times. General research is more or less agreed that you need to eat less calories than what you use to lose weight, (obviously) but when you eat and how you exercise isn't relevant. What you eat is, of course. You could apparently lose weight by eating only chocolate but then you would have to eat very small amounts and probably end up lacking important vitamins, minerals etc :)
At the end of the day though, it is what you are comfortable with that should be the measurement you live by, not what other people say. If you are happy (and I would add perhaps healthy) the way you are, fine.

I concur on all of this.
Also, I think sometimes people misinterpret "listen to your body" to mean "accept that you will be fat" and this is not at all the case. Listen to your body means take the pressure off and start listening to what your body is telling you.
And if you can really do this, if you can let go of a lot of that stress and pressure and be kind and patient with yourself, you will see good things happening. Like more energy and a positive attitude and yes, even a regulating of body weight.

I'll have to look into this. I do have a great DVD of exercises to go with the exercise ball I usually use as a foot rest. lol. I do like it. I need to get back into it, though I don't think I've ever used it for more than a few days at a time before I forget or just stop in favor of doing something else, like reading. lol.

I lack a juicer. However, I just got a new can of Akea, and I've been thinking I should be taking that twice a day, which I'm not. So, yeah, I'll start with that. Then maybe move to the juice idea...

So true. And stress at work isn't helping anything when I come home and only feel like eating gelato. :-) bad me. This is why I generally avoid buying junk food, cause if I do buy it, I won't eat anything else. It's also why one of my new year's resolutions was to not drink soda all year. So far, so good, though I've been craving some the past few days. Some of the other resolutions are falling flat though.

That's what I've been telling myself. Everything in life takes hard work. And I find it annoying to see commercials for diet pills "lose the weight in just two weeks!" Yeah, right. That's a recipe for disaster, if you ask me. So, I know it'll take hard work. I just need to find the motivation long term, to do the hard work. I would love to prove my coworker wrong. :-)

Thanks guys! You're the best. This is why I love coming here so much. There's all this positivity that just makes one feel so much better. :-D

What's in a green juice?

I tend to eat more when I'm anxious as well. You can replace gelato and any junk food by more healthy and low calorie type of food.

You can find Josh's recipe here."
That sure sounds green :p

I might try it one day

They're awesome, boyfriend's roomie has one.
He makes a great oranges, carrots and ginger juice for me when I visit.
I'm thinking about getting one, now that I have more storage space.
