Yes!
I have to set up the erm, is there an English word for "Schwippbogen"? Light bow? Huh? I'll take a pic later...

[ETA: dict.cc says "candle arch"]

I guess I'm having one of those too, plus a star with lights inside in the window.

I love that it is soon Christmas. Yesterday I listened to [book:Simple Gifts|13088480], this is one of my favourite Christmas stories. Later I'm going to reread Lone Star I think.

I am a parental unit, but will have an offspring unit staying over Christmas. I guess it is more or less the same thing :)

2 candles

It's our 97th Independence Day and everyone lights two candles on their window(s) at six o'clock in the evening. Why two — one explanation is that it marked a "safe place (to stay overnight)" during the wartime. Some say the two candles simply remind us of "home and homeland". In any case, I'm happy that I can lit them tonight in peace and knowing that my home is truly a safe place to stay overnight — every night.

We had yesterday a kind of thanksgiving meal for people who helped to bring the relatives of my Palestinian friends from Syria to Switzerland and I thought once more how privileged we are not having to worry about war in our countries.

Panromantic - I'm learning about different orientations while updating the LGBTQ resources page on my library's website. It's all so fascinating, the things I didn't know until recently!
