Welcome back, I hope you had a lovely vacation."
I did. So much so that it's hard to get back into the working frame of mind."
That is good, then you have been really relaxing. My experience is that the working frame of mind reasserts itself the minute you start working again :)

That was not such a good thing happening, I must admit.

A good question, Antonella and one I can't answer. Fear is much what Europe is about these days, fear of the unknown, about losing privileges, which is bound to happen, we cannot continue to live like the rest of the world doesn't exist, but changes, especially changes that have to do with giving up something you have had for years (a privileged, secure existence in a world where the resources are so unfairly divided and shared) are always painful and scary. Switzerland is not the only country experiencing this. Racism has to do with some of it, of course, but not everything. I believe one has to adress people's fears, but that is easier said than done of course. Maybe old models need to be looked at and restructured, maybe they don't all work well enough. I believe first of all one need to acknowledge people's fears and accept they are real but I don't think there are easy answers or easy solutions.

I know, and I fear a growth of the far right in the European elections in May.

He. ;-)

LOL I'm watching bowls now :) but that's not going to be my word of the day

I will, Antonella, by not leaving my apt. until tomorrow. :)

Yes! I'm in Virginia - we already have 10 inches and expecting up to 18. DH is out shoveling and said the driveway appears to be getting bigger and bigger. It is a wet, heavy snow.
We have had so much snow, ice and freezing cold weather this winter. I'm ready for Spring. ;-)

The main storm came through Raleigh yesterday...we got 7 in. of snow very quickly, freezing rain last night and another 2-4 in. of snow/ice expected today.
We have The Book of Mormon tickets tomorrow night, so the roads better clear by then! :-) Good Luck Susan and Valerie!

The Book of Mormons is hilarious, I hope you get to see it! My son took me to that show a couple of years ago when I visited him in NYC. The audience were screaming of laughter. Enjoy!
