Well, I have a cold, not sure about the others.
Thanks
I'm exhausted too. Haven't been sleeping well for about two weeks now.
Also, work, is today's work. ugh. I'd rather not be.

I'm so happy that Josh isn't amongst us exhausted ones today. His word progress looks like a bright ray of light in this list. :-)

Me too!
Me too!

Agreed. :)
I hope the sick and exhausted soon get better.

Oh, that's not good. I hope you don't have to work on Saturday either.
I'll be working Saturday, so this will be a long week for me and no proper weekend seeing as I'm taking a trip for one night over my weekend. At least I'll have some good knitting time on the train.

Oh, Sabine. This sounds awfully familiar. I hope your situation isn't permanent — because if it is, I truly hope there is something you can do about it. Maybe to talk about it with your boss, if that's at all possible? When work starts to take over your life and even effects your sleeping it just isn't healthy. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm preaching, but this is something I've had to go through in the near past. In fact there are quite a few of us in this group who have had this same problem sometimes in our lives. A little 'time-out' and rearranging my job description and my unhealthy working habits made all the difference for me. And HUGE help was all the wonderful support I got from this group. So, any time you need a shoulder (or a gentle push to right direction, LOL) you can find it here for sure, Sabine. Take care, dear.

It's funny Johanna, I had ask you which truck hit you at the same time!

I second that. :)
And, dear Sabine, you have to take care of yourself by yourself because no-one is going to do that for you and especially not a boss. All he sees (and I know that I'm talking generally here) is numbers. And it might help to take a look into the Arbeitszeitgesetz (esp. § 3) just so you know what is legal and that you have a right for times of rest. It helps to know that one is right when arguing about this point... *just saying*
And another thought experiment: the boss will have to replace you if you fell ill so if they're playing on you being irreplacable that's shortsighted and actually not true (even if we all like to think so).

I echo everything Calathea said, especially concerning the legislation. You do have rights! Maybe you could ask advice from the trade unions?

My boss is in the same situation and I hope we can find a solution. The positive side: I will get my time back, so I will get more free days in the nearby future ( hopefully )!
Calathea, I know that everyone is replacable, but the worksituation went uglier every minute. We do the same work with less and less people. Oh,my break is over!

That's too much. You must have a day off!
Speaking as a former manager, even during crunch time it's his job to watch his staff and make sure they don't burn out. If he isn't conserving his human resources, he's a lousy manager.

I really hope the situation gets better very soon. And i second what everyone else said. Please take care of yourself.

I just want to add my voice to the choir. As someone who knows how long and how much work it takes to get back after a burnout, I hope your situation will be better soon. And you know, nobody but you can take responsibility for yourself and your health. Please take good care of yourself, dear.

We call them "Lettres de motivation" in French. Which is awfully ironic and makes me laugh because to find motivation for some is a struggle. Good luck.

I hope you will. Be firm. You merit them. Take care, Sabine.
My word of the day: "Huh..."

Thanks. I really feel like I need it. And I'm really disliking the whole online application thing.

Josh, I'm the manager and no one from my staff is working through the whole week, without a free day. It's not allowed and it's not healthy. But if we don't get help from other shops, a outside company or someone stepped in, who only works for three days, then I'm there. Someone has to be there!
The management in the higher spehres are thinking only profit-oriented, so our resources are limited.
What I will perhaps do, is to get a place in our works council to improve our terms. More work :-)

Dear Sabine, I second the chorus, take care of yourself, even if the work situation is so bad! I know it is difficult to find sleep, eat well and do small relaxing things when you are already stressed out, but try it for your own sake, please!

Aw. I wanted to write "grog" but I think I might influence some in believing that I go heavy with the drink. What kind of hot drink do you prefer when you're sick? I usually know that I'm very sick when I want a hot chocolate.

*snort*
Well, for me, the drink used to be hot chocolate. But I don't drink as much of that these days. I think I would go with peppermint tea and lots of honey. It's very soothing.

Yummy!
How are you, Anne? I hope you're back to good after the food poisoning."
Thank you, I am fine now, although there were a couple of miserable day..."
I'm glad! :-)
But today I spent in the woods outside Oslo, hiking with my twin, and eating blueberries from the bush. :)
This sounds like a day well spent.
I loved those market stands in Helsinki where they had heaps and heaps of different kinds of berries. It it smelled heavenly! We don't have so many berries here in one place (they come only in small portions in the super market) and it made quite an impression on me. :-D
