The Best Thing About Today...

I am glad you're alright.

So sorry, you can't see me.
First I read Tornado and think ah no, but she has to be okay, because she can write.
I read on my kindle, so this is really all in very small letters, also I optimize the type size and read your comment: Total relief and laughter. I'm very happy, that you and your family are well.

Funny addendum to the fire/what-would-you-grab discussion -- when they tell you a tornado's in insert name of podunk town nearby here and to head to your basement, I grab: my kids, my dog, laptop, Kindle, purse, phone, Dew, sturdy shoes, and my camera. >:D

Glad you're all OK

There were lots of trees down where my parents live -- a bit south of Winchester. They were lucky and only had some tree limbs fall in the yard. I'm 20 minutes south of them and it wasn't too bad here.

The man in the second pic was my school bus driver (many years ago, LOL). :D

I sure respect them, but tornadoes don't flip me out too, too bad. Spend the first nine years of my life in Ohio, after all. Plus, a tornado went through Frostburg before we bought the house, when we still lived in MD. That was a whole lot scarier, let me tell you. We had NO basement and...you could tell something just was NOT right, y'know? The sky was wrong. Everything felt eerie and wrong. Didn't get that with this one. The weather geeks said the tornado was likely rain-wrapped so you wouldn't see it until it was too late, but still. Watching the hook echo creeping toward my house on doppler was scary, I have to admit.
Anyhoo, my word of the day: M-A-D. My husband is courting death, y'all. I am going to tie that boy up and whip him within an inch of his life if he doesn't settle his ass down, hand to God.

Oh no... Wishing you a good night's sleep.

The roof of our office building is leaking. I'm waiting for the ceiling to come crashing down on me. ;-) And the A/C is out so I'm not a happy camper.

I hope you're not anywhere in the Southern US. Summer without AC in the South is a recipe for disaster.

I'm in VA - 85 degrees "feels like" 101 with the horrible humidity today. *whine* ;)

I am sorry. I lived in Southeastern VA for six years... I know how humid summers can be there. :(

We've got a tornado watch in effect now. Yippee. :(

Glad to hear it was "only" a big scare for you! It was in the news and I wondered if any of us was in the middle of it.

But no train, many trams don't go and not enough buses to catch this. But today it was much better than yesterday, so no whining.

Us too. No warnings though, at least not yet. Been occasionally hearing some fantastic thunder booming and rolling closer. Pity. After dinner, I like to put my show on the road and work on the deck outside.
If you see/hear warnings in northeastern Mineral County WV, near Cumberland, MD, that's me.
ETA: Huh. Tornado warning for southwest Bedford (PA) just came up.

Thank you, hopefully without the Carpenters or Chordettes
( I have seen this the first time, it is of a sad way funny, particular the selection of the dreammen.)http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SsKQXJQwrNc

Since when did western MD & the tri-state mountain zone become tornado freaking alley??? FU, global warming.

We've got relatives in Martinsburg and Chambersburg but haven't heard about any tornadoes from them. No tornadoes here, thank goodness - just a strong thunderstorm around 8:00 last night. We had my daughter's 5th grade graduation so that would have been chaos if there were tornado warnings.
We've had some tornadoes come through in recent years and a couple of years ago we had that derecho which left a lot of damage in our area.

Oh, Kari. There's no such thing as Global Warming. It's just a COINCIDENCE!!!

Thank you for crossed fingers! I arrived late last night. But I made it savely here. :-)
