The Best Thing About Today...

I didn't tell you, but I was quite sad as my cat died one week ago. The house seemed empty. So I decided to adopt a rescue cat. I hope that we will be a good match.

Antonella, I am so sorry for your loss. That's hard. Your cat has been a good friend over the years. Many hugs.
Congratulations on your new family member! I hope Vic is settling in well and you are having a good time together.

So sorry for your loss, Antonella. Cats are such amazing critters. Welcome to little Vic! May you two enjoy a long and loving friendship.
The best thing about today...
Despite all the crazy-ass shenanigans since the election, I still feel relatively calm.
Angry, because a country that prides itself on being a global leader, should not experience post-election shenanigans, let alone the level of outlandish bullshit we're seeing, but still. Relatively calm.

For the moment I have a cuteness overload. Sooner or later I'll manage to post pictures.

Absolutely. And I can imagine what a nightmare it was for them not to be heard by some politicians, knowing that the consequences would be catastrophic.

Thank you, I had missed it!
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Vow Change on Trans Day of Remembrance

Antonella, you're amazing. I knew I could count on you to find the link! Thank you! I was being lazy. :)

We are a good team! ;-)
I had a busy and rather stressful day yesterday, but this makes everything better! Thanks for sharing this!

High five! :D

Yes, this! :-)

Oh no. I'm so sorry, Antonella.
But so glad for the new kitten. I hope you both love each other dearly for many years to come.

Yes to all of this.
There was no guarantee that there would be a vaccine, so this is wonderful news.

I think Biden will do his very best to honor his promises. But of course, if we don't take the senate, all the good intentions in the world will go nowhere.

I am back to work and feeling excited and hopeful and even creative.
Also determined to ignore the rest of the holiday leftovers. It is my job to impersonate the garbage disposal.

It's hard not to get angry and upset with the relentless and idiotic shenanigans, but they're not going to prevail. Biden will be inaugurated on January 20th and we will move forward as a country (with whoever is left).

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Granted we're going to be about 17 million short of vaccinations from where we were supposed to be by end of year. But at least we're moving in the right direction.

It was snowing a lot, and it was beautiful, but going uphill is quite tiring! I also felt I had to keep up with my more experienced friend (and owner of the snowshoes). Still, I'm glad I did it.

I've been wanting to try this since ages, but all the offers were for groups and even with a beginners group I didn't feel risking being the one slowing down everybody.

lol, I would also be that person at the very back. I took an orienteering class in college for PE credit. They told me it was the easiest PE class they had. HA. Not for me. I hated it. I was always the one at the very back yards behind everyone else. Later I took tennis, which I suck at, but I do enjoy, and so that was fun. Much easier. And then they offered Tai Chi classes. And well, I don't think you can get much easier for PE than Tai Chi. lol.

I had to do that in elementary school. That could be a lot of fun, but they did not offer that in college. And I doubt I would have done it. I sorta like dancing, but not really with others, like, it would be awkward and I'd likely have no friends with me. lol. But it always looks fun.

How nice, thank you!! Each time I was in Ireland/Scotland I used to go to evenings with traditional Irish ans Scottish dances or, even better, ceilidh. I followed some workshops also here. And for a while I gave Italian lessons in exchange for Irish dance lessons ;-).

Very impressed, Antonella! I tried this once when camping with my husband, SIL and two nieces. (Wow, just realized that was 30" years ago pre-having my own kids!) I do remember it being strenuous. I don't think I'd make it more than a few yards now... :)

Wow! I am so happy for you. Congratulations! Happy day indeed. What a relief.
It is a day that can't get here soon enough for me. Appointments opened online last week for over 70s in our state and the system crashed immediately on opening. Those who were able to get through got the few available appointments. So now it's a waiting game because they can only make appointments for the amount of vaccine they actually have on hand, so hopefully there will be more this week. I am watching that site like a hawk.

So happy for you and your family. My mom should be getting hers early next month. Her assisted living home already had round one for current residents before she moved in.

My mom has a vaccination appointment on Monday!!!
A whole raft of new appointments appeared yesterday afternoon for next week and we got one! It's a dream come true. I totally lost it when the confirmation appeared.

The first weekend of the Biden Harris Administration. :-)"
Right on! :)

Today I received the six Josh Lanyon coffee mugs I had ordered from Zazzle.

((Says the one who doesn't manage anymore to post pictures ;-))

I wanted to, but I can't.
I mean one can only post a picture as a link, and it doesn't seem to work with Facebook. I don't have Instagram.

LOL! The same as me...
In theory I have Instagram, but I wanted it to talk to an acquaintance I could reach only through Instagram. So I got it, said «hallo» to my acquaintance, and never used it anymore.

Every time I try to sign up to Instagram, it says there is already an account associated with my email address. But when I press the "forgot password" button and enter my email address, it says there is no account associated with that email address.
Sigh.
"Help" requests remain unanswered, and Instagram has absolutely nowhere to go for live help.
So, no Instagram account.
