Alison | 4756 comments I went to the store first thing this morning and they had toilet paper! Woohoo! I've never been so excited about toilet paper in my life. I hadn't bought any in a while, so it's a big relief! :)

Congrats!

I’m hoping to find some TP this weekend because I haven’t bought any in awhile either.

I’m annoyed with Amazon, or maybe just the third party seller where I ordered a case of soap last week. Because I don’t have prime, their shipping has gotten really annoying. The seller only just created the shipping label yesterday. Then today they reimburse me for most of my order because “there was only one bar of soap left”. I’m just a little ticked, because I ordered six bars last week. Wish I could order it direct from the company, but I can’t. Anyway, I’ll stop venting, today, it seems, is a day for frustration and venting.

But, I’m still alive and well, as is Adrien, so that’s good! Lol.

Hang in there, Jordan. I guess one bar of soap is better than none and will last a while. Sucks, though. You could try a different website.

I've been avoiding Amazon. So many companies are doing free shipping right now and are desperate for business, so I figure I'll support the little guys. I've bought soap and shampoo and lotion and tea and deodorant and on and on. Basically, anything to keep from having to go out and shop.

Now if only I could buy bourbon online! Unfortunately, it's not allowed where I live.

We have yet to come across that particular Golden Fleece. Lucky for us we keep a pretty good supply on hand.

Amazon is a complete mess right now. That's the downside of so many unregulated third party vendors. Almost everything I order immediately gets a new much extended ship date and the prices are sky high on both items and shipping. Ugh.

Yeah, Amazon is a mess is an understatement. Lol. I’m planning to order everything I can’t easily get elsewhere once this craziness is over, and everything else I’ll order elsewhere, and then I’ll just be very selective about what I buy from them. It’s just that I love their wishlist feature and mine is so long. I’ve actually been culling it of things I’ve had on there forever that I just need to accept that I either don’t need or will never buy. Especially used books that are expensive and hard to find! Do I really want these things? Probably not. Do I have the space for them? Probably not. Lol.

And I just read an article that says the post office could go belly up come June if something isn’t done to help them out. That’s the last thing we need right now.

Week two of my meditation class tonight! I need to get used to meditation, but I’m enjoying the class so far. Also, it leads me right into a three-day weekend as Monday is Patriots Day for us and is a holiday for which the library is closed. It is also normally the day the Boston Marathon is run, but obviously that’s not happening this year.

Also, I got my new curtains yesterday, and I’ll put them up later today too!

Alison | 4756 comments Jordan wrote: "Also, I got my new curtains yesterday, and I’ll put them up later today too!"

Fun! I hope your curtains are amazing!

I just bought new curtains too! We bought our house a year ago and it has really drab grey linen-ey curtains. They're fine, but I think they're pretty ugly and boring and I've been jumping to replace them. You can get new curtains for pretty cheap and anything would be better than what we have (in my opinion!), so we had a spree on cheap curtains and got bright yellow ones for the bedroom and bright red ones for my room. I am so excited. We've got a stack of packages sitting by the front door quarantining, including the curtains, so next week I'll put them up and it will be so great. :)

Jordan Lombard (jslombard) | 15348 comments Mod
I’ve had sheer red curtains in my bedroom for ten years, and I changed them to blue. I couldn’t find the brand I wanted so these are a different fabric and are more sheer than the red ones. ... it’s going to take some time to get used to cool blue light over warm red light filtering into my room, I think. I’ve half a mind to swap them back already! I am planning to save the red ones for a future office/writing space, if I don’t rehang them in the bedroom first! Lol.

Otherwise, yay for redecorating!

I need new sheets and am thinking about getting a new mattress to go with them...

I believe this is about making voting by mail impossible for November. Trump has already stated he will veto ANY efforts to bail out the Postal Service.

Personally, I think AFTER the election, there would be a miraculous bailout for the Post Office, one that involves making it entirely privatized, I don't doubt.

They're in peak season here in South Florida. I've been liberating them from the vacant lot behind my sister's house. Wow; they're just fantastic. I dread the day they sell the lot and cut down the trees.

They are fantastic even bought in a shop, I cannot imagine how they are directly from a tree! Enjoy them!

Here how to make the perfect mango lassi according to the «Guardian». Mango lassis are one of my favourite things in the world.

Yum, and I've got all of the ingredients -- but no blender! The movers lost the jar when I moved in April.

Funny enough, that was actually my mom's blender, which I had borrowed because the movers also lost the jar to my blender when I moved in 2017! So I have two blender bases and no jar. And they're both too old to buy a replacement jar that fits. So I really have to buy two blenders - one for me and one for my mother - when the stores open. Although she'll probably be OK if we just share one again.

(And I guess it's about time I just throw out the bases, but I keep expecting the jars to suddenly appear in a shoebox or something.)

Here's a mystery for Josh (or maybe Kit Holmes): what the heck are the movers doing with all of the lost/stolen blender jars?!

Oh wow! Aren't you lucky! Enjoy! Fresh mangoes are about the best thing ever. My brother lives in northeastern Australia and the mangoes I have had at their house are one of the best things I have ever eaten. Memorably amazing. I've been having imported mangoes lately and while they are yum because they are mangoes, I dream of having fresh mangoes again.

I was waiting for it and it never arrived. I thought that the delay was connected to Coronavirus, so I didn't check my order. When I finally decided to investigate the matter, I found out that apparently I had never ordered it...
