Why is there no second referendum? Is that even a possibility? Because from the outside looking in, there seems to be a lot of buyer's remorse.

The best thing about today is that, although I'm sick (UGH!!) I'm not so sick that I can't work. And that today's schedule is:
Listen to the audio for Seance on a Summer's Night
Respond to questions for the Chinese Moments game
Work on Stranger in the House

I haven’t worn jeans in over four or five years because I can’t find any that are comfortable anymore. :-( I do kind of miss them...
TBTAT is that this is a day off without any plans!

I don't normally wear jeans anymore either, but I've just bought a second hand pair almost new for 2 dollars. I just couldn't leave them there!
$2 for almost new jeans is an amazing price!
I’ve been sticking to yoga pants for years now. If you get the right style and color they can look very professional, paired with the right shirt and nice scarf and sweater. :-) and they’re super comfortable.
But, I have an appointment with a new doctor next month, and I’ll be sure to mention my issues. Maybe she can figure out what the problem is so I can wear jeans again. :-)

Well, it’s part me and Part jeans. I really don’t want to have to wear high waisted jeans, but I’ve gained weight where it counts, and on top of that, I bloat easily, which means I could suddenly go up a size or two without notice. It’s just better to have pants that can change size with me, that can’t dig into my internal organs.
It sounds weird to describe it, I know.

Aww, thanks. I'd love to take some credit but it was all Tiferet Design. She read the book and then designed the most brilliant cover. Perfect in tone, period and the character she chose to depict.

Democracy is such a good word even though it doesn't always work to the direction one would hope—as we all know. Last weekend we had our parliamentary election here in Finland and I hate the fact that one of the winners of it is Finns Party which combines left-wing economic policies with conservative social values, socio-cultural authoritarianism and ethnic nationalism. Argh. But I have good news for Antonella: also Green League (which is a member of the Global Greens and the European Green Party) did really well! They gained 5 seats! Which means that they now have 20 seats of the total 200 seats.
And here's a nice fact: In our new parliament 46% of the members are women (93 of 200 parliamentarians).

Starting to feel like my energy and focus is coming back. :-) I went walking with my sister, had my eyelashes redone, promoted the new book a little and answered a SLEW of emails...

Glad you feeling better!

Best thing about today was the feeling of centeredness I get working in the garden. Everything is kind of a wreck after the winter--I lost pretty much everything in pots--but as I start cleaning up and replanting and restringing lights... Everything seems to fall into place.

🤣🤣🤣 Yep. The look on Superman's face. He's so happy, flying his grumpy arsed boyfriend around.

I've been off-line for a couple of weeks while I moved. It took a while for AT&T to come out and install service at the house, and then there were problems with the system (of course). Everything was finally ironed out this morning.
I had cellular access to internet and e-mail, etc. (and actually quite a decent signal, unlike at my apartment), but I find the Goodreads app too difficult to navigate, and with all the stresses from moving, I'd fallen behind. It's great to be back!
My pugs Stella and Marlowe love the house and the yard. Paddy (pug x chihuahua) fell into the pool and was afraid to walk anywhere for quite some time (he doesn't see very well), but he's getting around a little better now.

For tomorrow, I’m going to the opera for the first time! I’m not really a fan, but my Book Group is seeing The Handmaid’s Tale, which is in English, and we got to do a group read of the libretto last week, which helped make it more fun and accessible.

Enjoy yourself! I didn't know about the opera, now I've read about it: it's a modern one. When you say opera I expect Verdi or Mozart...
I’m still not a lover of opera. Lol. It might have been better if they’d actually written songs for it rather than singing regular dialogue lines. Imagine asking someone “Does your commander like kinky sex?” In operatic fashion. Aside from that though, it was really well done. It was set in a Harvard University basketball stadium, where much of the actual book is set, which made it interesting.

Thank you for reporting back. I suspect I wouldn't like the contemporary music.
I got to spend time with my book group, which was fun. The acting was great, the costumes were good. The stage was amazingly well done. Just not necessarily the singing. Lol.

I've been toying with the idea of a second dog for Marlowe, but the thought of having to watch to make sure he learns about the pool and starting over with all the training is daunting in the midst of all these deadlines.
But Marlowe wants to play ALL THE TIME and I know he's a little bored and a little lonely when I'm working (which is also ALL THE TIME)

Well, I've had my first Creme Egg of the year, but better than that my cover reveal for my historical WW2 romance is going down a storm. Best cover reveal ever.
In fact I wish I could share it with you all here but I've no idea how to or if it would be allowed.
