Searching out my adverbs, I was intensely aware of how many times per chapter I'd used the word "only". Which seems completely ridiculous. I didn't think that was a word I could over use. But, yep, in just about every chapter so far. lol.

Anne | 6816 comments Unbalanced.

I guess that is the word for me these days, which is rare, I am usually a balanced person.

But right now, my aging, dement father is sick and getting weaker and more confused day by day. He lives too far away for me to see him as much as I would like. We don’t know how much longer he has or how bad it will get, and it is painful being so far away.

On the other hand, my grandson will arrive in the beginning of November if everything goes well. They live so far away, so I can’t be there for my daughter as much as I would like, but I am joyful and hopeful for her, her fiance and the new life.

So my emotions are all over the place at the moment, happy, hopeful, sad and worried and wishing I could be two places at the same time, and none of them the place where I am.

So yes, unbalanced.

Thinking of you, dear Anne. On the other hand I sympathize about your father's difficult situation and about the distance between you and him—which must be so, so difficult to endure. And on the other hand I feel enthusiastic happiness for you and your daughter and the soon to be born grandson. Life is both painful and wonderful, isn't it.
