Thank you (and everybody else). I was nearer to his former partner, but it was still a shock.

Yesterday I felt physically sick because one of my three biggest clients sent me an incredible amount of work to do in a very short time, and the colleague who could help me is on holiday. So I kept telling myself that the worse which could happen is that I lose the client, but I'm still very alive.

I’m sending supportive vibes, Antonella. And yes, what you said is something I need to consentrate on when the new school year starts—to put work related things into right, healthier perspective. So... good thinking, my dear!

Good thinking, Antonella! You may also explain to them that you're working without help, so it may take a little longer than they'd like. And if they want a good job done, you certainly won't rush it!

This is the truth. So long as you are alive and well, everything else is fixable. This is what I keep reminding the SO of.

Antonella | 11570 comments Breathing

I can breath again: the client who wanted from me an insane amount of work in short time just wrote me saying: «of course you can take more time».

In the meantime, because of all the tension and work since Friday, I've got a pain im my left leg, a kind of sciatica I suppose...

Ouch! Take a deep breath, relax and know you can work at a sane pace.

ALSO deal with the sciatica now. NOW. Before it becomes a huge problem.

Thank you for your advice. I said that it might be a kind of sciatica, but I don't have a clue.

I spoke with a physiotherapist this morning and she meant, I can wait a day or two and check if it is getting better. Considering that I'm not fond of going to the doctor, even though I like very much mine, I'll wait...

Anne | 6816 comments Ouch!

I managed to stumble and fall yesterday and landed on my right hand. It hurt bad and I have some problems using it so I went to the doctor this morning. Fortunately not broken but badly sprained. Kind of ironic, I travel all over the world without problems, but manage to hurt myself on the garage floor...

ETA Apparently I don’t bounce as well as I used to when I was younger. When us elderly ladies fall, we fall hard.

Thank you for asking, Antonella! The heat has been pretty intense for a few weeks now—very unlike the usual Finnish summer. And it's supposed to continue at least yet another two weeks. I'm starting to feel like a Californian gal. :-D The days are so hot that one really can't stay outside for long and absolutely no puppy walks during the daytime—those we do only late in the evening.

We got into the habit of taking long walks early in the morning if I don't have to go to work. They're usually very peaceful for the most part. And it's cooler than the rest of the day. :-)

Sorry to hear about this. Take good care of yourself.

The only time I managed to fall in my jogger ''career'' was on a completely flat path on lake Como. I had been jogging for three years in Switzerland sometimes with snow or ice on steep paths...

And thank you for asking about my kind-of-sciatica trouble: it is almost completely gone!

Ice and then heat will be your friend. And not trying to use your hand before you're fully healed. ;-)

Rain

Every evening now, often with thunder, lightning, and torrid downpours. On Monday night a freak hailstorm tore up our vegetable garden and sliced up the lily pads in our pond. It’s like we’re trying to make up for a very dry year in a few weeks time. And the days are still very hot. Crazy.

MOUSE

The electronic kind. A couple of days ago my mouse stopped working on my laptop. IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING. I tried updating drivers, changing batteries, changing mice...nothing.

I've just installed a completely new mouse, new brand, and we'll see what happens.

Technology makes me crazy.

Positivefeedback

I just posted a list of Asexual Romance novels to my library's Overdrive page on Thursday and we've now gotten two people who wrote in with "complaints" to thank the library for posting the list and for investing in the books enough that there could be a list.
