The Best Thing About Today...
Four.

I feel sick only thinking of this. But does this means that she will lack 4 teeth from now on?

Yes. It's a lot like when I had my wisdom teeth taken out two years ago. The four they took out were not important teeth for her, so she'll be fine without them. :-) And much healthier too. Hopefully, brushing her teeth from now on will be easier too, but we're not supposed to do that for two weeks, which is both a blessing and a curse. lol. I really wanted to get started right away with keeping her teeth clean, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Good for her, and for you ;-).

Nervous.
Just told my supervisor I'm planning to apply to the P2 position in our department, which just got posted today. That means, I have one week to apply for it. Resume is done. I just have to write a cover letter this weekend. But still... this is a bit nerve wracking.

I'll cross my fingers and my toes for you!
Still, I wouldn't mind to know what the P2 position is ;-).
I’m a P1, basically means I’m at the bottom rung of the ladder. P2 is a step up, more responsibility, more pay, but in this case, almost the exact same job. :-)

Thank you for explaining.
And again: good luck!

Good luck, Jordan!

I am at a friend’s cottage for the weekend which involves some very relaxed skiing in lovely surroundings ( the weather could be better), reading, knitting, movie watching and wine drinking and talking.

Honestly, just the word "cottage" carries relaxation value.

So the museum of science has an exhibit up called A Mirror Maze: Numbers In Nature. Which sounds great, but their radio ads are annoying because it's a woman exclaiming: "Oh! It's me! Who's that, oh, there I am again! It's me. Hi me! Me! There I am. It's me again!" and it just reminds me how self-centered we've become in society. I totally get that she's in a mirror maze, and seeing a bazzilion of herself (is that even grammatically correct? lol), but just the way they did it kinda bugs me.
Anyway, learn more about the mirror maze here: https://www.mos.org/exhibits/mirror-maze

TAXES
Ugh
I can't think of anything I hate worse than doing taxes. It's so tedious, so time-consuming, and I never know where the hell we are or how much we'll have to pay until we're actually sitting there in the accountant's office.

Hours left in tax season for me. I'll be working all day tomorrow. I'm going to a fancy fundraising dinner tonight with my daughter. Hope I don't fall asleep in soup.
Suckerpunched
I think I’m in a state of emotional shock right now. It’s true what they say about character deaths... only, it’s worse when so much death happens across multiple entertainment platforms all in one day. My current favorite show hit me hard this afternoon, when it’s best female heroine was shot. Then I finished a fantastic book I’m reading for my book group where a father was shot just because he was looking for his missing daughter. Then I stupidly went to watch the next episode of the show and while no one I liked got killed, the stories that emerged, the emotions that were on display, everything was just... I’ve cried several times today...
What am I supposed to read before bed in an hour? How will I fall asleep if I don’t read something?
Holy fluff, Batman! All in one day! It’s just too much.
