LOL
The ads proclaim Norway is the Happiest Place on Earth (which, for the record, I thought was Disneyland. :-D) What is funny to me about these ads is that so much of what I imagine makes Norway such a happy place (which, by the way, I'm willing to believe) would be things like healthcare and social services. The kinds of things that 40% of our country feels are evil and will make us weak.

Apparently we are ranked on top of that list, but I’m not sure who got to decide :).
And yes, I think universal healthcare, free education and being a welfare state actually is what makes Norway a good place to live. I don’t think it is especially evil and most Norwegians I know are rather average strengthwise. :)
But you could come and check it out? Hint hint...
CelticSojourn
So apparently there's a Celtic Sojourn program happening on one of our public radio stations right now. In fact, it's the one with the satellite station in the library. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon at work! I don't normally appreciate their programming in the library, when the volume is loud enough to be heard two floors up and it's talk radio about politics, which happens most of the time. Today, the volume is just right, and the music is lovely!

Poweroutage.
Woke up to no electricity, which is very rare in the city, had to call maintenance at 6am. Poor guy. Thankfully, I'm almost positive he has to live somewhere nearby. He seems to be the only one on call after hours, and he arrives within 15 minutes. :-) Anyway, power was restored three minutes after I left for work. lol.

Headway
Which is better than headwinds. ;-) Finally seeing some progress in almost every direction. It's all about the cumulative effect, I think.

Right?! Spooky darkness and a dark monster attacking me as I come in the door. lol. I did flip a light switch before I left, so hopefully there will be at least one light on for my cute monster and for me when I get home. :-)

Woot! I'm imagining you outside on a warm summer day in a field of flowers, somehow flying with wind in your hair as you make headway. :-)

A sleep deprived haiku :)

There. A proper Haiku. I hadn’t even realized how close I’d come to one earlier. Lol. So close!

My daughter and I have bought plane tickets and booked room at a hotel by the Dead Sea in Jordan in May, and we will visit the ancient city Petra, one of the seven wonders and a place I really want to see.

Ooooh, hubby and I were just talking about him the other day! Such cool person. I vividly remember him ski-jumping.
I noticed that there's a movie made of him: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1083452/ Have you seen it? (I haven't. Yet.)

Petra looks like an amazing place. I saw a very interesting documentary about the management of water (flash floods and systems to retain and direct water) there.

The days are still short, too cold and covered in snow, but we have longer days now and it is daylight when I go to work in the morning. It helps.

It definitely helps. And the fact that the coldest days are usually the most beautiful ones. :-)
Related to this: It's been quite cold here (about -25 Celsius/-13 Fahrenheit) these last couple of weeks and the cold phase is supposed to continue a while longer. Despite of that — or maybe because of that! — my Mom is extremely enthusiastic about her ice swimming hobby. Every day she walks to the river where they have the hole in the ice and the changing room. And then she swims and stays in the freezing water until she has counted to 50. My fearless Mom. :-D I couldn't do it.
