The Best Thing About Today...
Vacation!
Soooo my holiday vacation starts earlier and lasts a little longer than initially planned. So excited not to have to go anywhere tomorrow or do anything except the laundry and maybe cleaning up the kitchen. lol.

Oh! Congratulations!
Blizzard.
Yep, it was bad. Apparently there was coastal flooding never mind the amount of snow, and the high winds which reached 76 mph on the cape. But, Adrien and I stayed inside all day. She slept and I sorta worked on a project for work. And now it’s time to go back out in it one more time before bed.

I've some pictures. Yikes! Please keep safe and warm.
Definitely will. Adrien doesn’t want to be out in this weather, now just severe wind chills below zero, longer than she has to.

Of the Christmas tree :).
It is always with mixed feelings I throw out the tree ( the renovation guys actually collect them and get rid of them for us, fortunately) and pack away all the Christmas ornaments. It’s a little bit melancholy but also fun to reclaim my ordinary living room😊

I agree with that feeling. We had tree pick up the other day, so my wreath left me on Wednesday. Seems so odd not to have it.

Always a sad day. But yes, good to get back to regularly scheduled programming. If we had Christmas trees all year round it would not be so special.

Ours left us yesterday. We made a ceremony of the de-decorating bit. ;-)

I've been sick so my tree is still up. The sparkly lights make me feel better ;)"
Glad to hear this!
And you are not so late, usually in Italy we take everything down starting with the 7th January, if not the Three Kings wouldn't find their way ;-).

As long as they make you feel better, that's all that matters!

We sold one of our cars yesterday to the first person who came and looked at it, which was surprising and awesome. Hooray! One more thing we don't have to worry about anymore. :)

Maybe that was that colleague of mine who about now should arrive in NZ for three months of vacationing. Me? Jealous? Never! ;-)

Always good to have less things to worry about! A celebration is in order! :-)

I'm enjoying the trees waiting to be picked up, on my walks with the doggie. Some still smell so piney fresh. Love that smell.
rattled.
Had to deal with a difficult patron earlier today that was a very unpleasant experience. You know it's bad when one of the custodians had to come over and ask if I was alright.
Anyway, I'm now eating a Boston cream cupcake and enjoying it very much. :-)

May the rest of your day be filled with grateful and pleasant patrons.

I forgot to tell you about my New Year's resolution: to accept invitations, whenever possible, avoiding to save energies, money and so on.
For ex. my friend in Cambridge, which I'll visit in September after the UK Meet, told me that she'll organise a 25th wedding anniversary party in July, if they find a venue. My first reaction was to tell her that I cannot possibly go to England in July and then again in September. And then I thought: why not? I love England, I love parties with live music and dancing, I'd be glad to be celebrate with her and her husband.

I don't really have a new year's resolution this year. But a friend bought me a one-line-a-day journal for my birthday last summer, and I found some good articles online that explain how to use it, and include some good writing prompt questions to answer if you're stuck on a day. So, I started it last night, and I'll use the prompts to fill in the days I forgot if I don't remember anything about that day.
In short, we'll see how it goes.

Oh no. What on earth?
It's surprising to think that librarians must run into the same difficulties retail and food service associates do: unreasonable clients.
