I have a number of documentaries running in the background as I work on the rewrite of Murder Takes the High Road.
The documentary of the moment is showing Orkney. So many memories. The Italian chapel, etc.

I saw this old woman ( past seventy I’m sure) on the bus. Her hair was a faded pink, there were big chunky rings on all her fingers, more than one on each finger, she wore a beautiful red hat and an expensive long brown coat, open, an embroidered extravagant shawl over a yellow, long caftan and long, black skirt and thick, grey knitted socks in black men’s shoes. I was terribly fascinated and she kept me wondering about her story.

What Josh said. What a great description! You should write her story. I'd love to know more!
That reminds me of a woman who used to live around here. She always wore the same bright shade of red. Not maroon, or anything, just red. Crayola Red. She dressed very well, (she was rich, so yeah) but she just looked great, not showy or anything. But she had a red hat, red glasses, red sunglasses, red jackets, blouses, skirts, stockings, high heels, purses. Everything was the exact same shade of red. She was plainly elegant, is probably the best way to describe her. The crazy thing was, she could pull that off so well. I doubt anyone else could. That just amazed me.

There actually was a lady here in Oslo who also wore red like that, I used to see her around town. I belive once there was an interview with her in one of the papers, she had a colourful history. She isn’t around anymore.
I love it when people are themselves like that in all their flamboyant glory :)

The word I’m really looking for is the word for the sound you make when walking through fallen leaves that are stiff from frost, a rustling sound that embodies the colour of autumn leaves with a layer of frost and the clear blue sky.
Is there a sound like that? :)

I've recently downloaded the official Swiss weather app. Yesterday for the first time I've got a storm warning on my cell phone: ''Sunday 9.00-21.00''.
Today nothing happened and I thought: «Uh?». But it started at 4 pm. I'm supposed to meet friends and see a movie. I won't be able to go by bike and I'm a bit frustrated. On the other side I love to look at the wood behind my house where the trees dramatically sway.
I wonder why are we fascinated when nature unleashes her powers.

I want to get back into this again."
I would like to get back into that too. I'd need some kind of course though and they all seem to be during my working hours. *sigh*

Oh, I know exactly which sound you mean! Alas, no word for it around here... it's like the first fingers of winter creeping in and getting a hold of the fallen leaves. For us it's the sign that it's really going to be cold now and I should finally get the coat from the closet.

I'd suggest, you stay save? Maybe have a Skypemeeting instead if possible?
And, yeah, nature has her ways to show us how small and fragile we are. That's always very impressive. Same with summer thunderstorms or huge waves at the ocean.

Autumn was so very mild this year around here that I totally forgot things like hats, scarfs, gloves etc even existed. Winter will probably make up for that. ;-)

Oooh, cool. There's definitely a sound for that, but I'm not sure if there's a word for it in English. There should be because it's a great sound and so distinctive. Enjoy. :)

Thank you, Mymymble and Calathea.
In fact the dramatic part pf the storm lasted only one hour, so I was able to go by bike: there were lots of leaves and bits of branches around, but it was totally safe. I watched the movie with one friend, the second one didn't come, IMO because it was raining ;-).

I was back at the hospital for control today and now they don’t think my episode was a TIA after all, but more likely a migraine attack with aura but without headache, which apparently can be a thing. And the reason I have been feeling unwell afterwards is probably because of the medication I have been on since. They haven’t finished testing me but I am to stop most of the medication at once so hopefully that will make me better soon. I am glad of course but also kind of confused but it isn’t always so easy for the doctors to find out everything, he apologised for making me sick, which was a kind thing to do. Fingers crossed I will get better quicker now and that they find out what this is in the end. But still, there has been a reason this happened I guess, so there still is good reasons for not pressure oneself and do all the things all the time and never saying no. 😊 in case you thought different...;)
This was a rambling post I’m afraid and I apologise, I am as I said a little confused right now. And glad my brain apparently is intact :)

I hope you feel better very soon, dear Anne, and that they find out properly what happened. Taking it easy, or at least easier, sounds like the thing to do, so please take care of yourself. *hugs*

I'm relieved with you, dear. I sincerely hope that everything will be well and that in a while you will be able laugh about this.
Anne, perhaps a step in the right direction. I’m glad the doc seems to be making wise decisions. Most of the ones I know like.y wouldn’t think to blame the meds. Hope this gets you better soon!

Wow, Anne, that's good news. What a relief. But yes, confusing and perhaps little frustrating. I'm glad things are getting sorted out. The wrong medication can cause lots of problems (my mum has had several bad experiences like that with medication), so I'm happy that's been figured out. Take care, my dear. May you feel better quickly.
Tumble.
Adrien took a tumble this morning running around a clay tennis court. I think she just slipped in a puddle of water. But she tore up some skin pretty bad and there was a lot of blood. I think she’ll be fine, but still, cleaning wounds was not how we had planned to spend the day.

Oh wow. Well, that is a relief. Kind of. And all the rest will still do you the world of good. I hope stopping to take the meds you've been on will soon make you feel better. You'll probably have to listen to your body (and how you're feeling) extra carefully, though. In any case, I hope it all will get sorted out ASAP. I'm sending hugs!

This. My first thought was jippi I can immediately go back to work! But I have agreed with my boss that first I shall talk to my general doctor and not plunge headfirst into work again. Something did happen after all, and my body and my poor head has been through a lot the last weeks. But the relief is immense, though.
