Yeah, it's been slowly snowing big, fluffy, very Christmassy snowflakes the whole day, but the snow won't stay for long. So, that's a relief. :-)

Wow, that's early. I just hope it won't be the same till the 31st her: as it happens every 15 months (there are 15 terraced houses), I'm responsible for managing the paths around the houses here. Although if the snow is heavy everybody helps, and some neighbours love snow shovelling...

About the apples: if 200 litres was the last batch of apples, how much was the total?!?

We've managed to give away most of the first 200 litres. And now the second half of those 400 litres is going to sit in their baskets for a while and get nicely ripened. This bunch is from our winter apple tree, so the apples only get better if they get to sit in their baskets for a few weeks.

Honeycrisp

A variety of apple that's recently been available at our local food co-op/grocery. https://mnhardy.umn.edu/varieties/fru...

Envying Johanna's fresh apples! I had to indulge in Honeycrisp apple slices dipped in chile-flavored peanut butter. I've found two varieties lately, one with ground chipotle peppers, and another with lime and cayenne — a perfect complement to the crisp, cool sweetness of apple slices.

I do love apples with peanutbutter, but I've not found a good way to get the peanut butter to stick to the slices easily. lol. I've not tried it with spices. I wonder if I'd like that... I bet if you take an apple slice and dip it in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon it would be delish!

Oh wow, mangoes. My favourites. And mango lassies. Mmmmmmm. I'll never forget the first time I had a mango in a place where they grow easily and it was mango season--it's spoiled me for imported mangoes forevermore. I still remember it and it was amazing. If you live in a mango-growing country you are a lucky person. The imported ones will have to do for now, though, and they are still mighty good.

Dates is such a weird food word. In fact, it took me ages to realize what is that people are eating when they're eating dates. The Finnish word is taateli and it must origin from the Swedish word dadel which isn't that different from date, I guess. So, go figure. :-)

Aaaanyways, enjoy your dates! I'm trying to remember if I've ever tasted a fresh one. Maybe not.

It's Dattel in German, so not very far from dadel or taateli. :-)
The L seems to be consistent over several languages. Why is there no L in the English word. It seems logic there should be one... :-D

That sounds great!

I'm at work tonight, which is probably a good thing. It means Adrien and I will go out later when I get home and won't be out too long (hopefully) so we'll miss the creepy/scary children that are already scary for Adrien even when they're not dressed up.

Plotting

I'm not ready for tomorrow to be November! Can't it wait another month? By the end of tonight, if I'm lucky, I will have plotted through my Big Middle scene, but not beyond it. Well, that is a solid 30+ number of scenes, but still... likely won't be enough to carry me through 50K in one month. I'll likely have to plot during November, and I'd rather not have to. So... this will be fun!

Anne | 6816 comments Cuteness (is that a word?)

I am still at home during the day and my closest neighbour is a kindergarden. This morning I watched a bunch of very small children ( we are talking knee height) getting ready for an excursion, the grown ups patiently getting them to hold fast on to a long rope. They were all dressed in colourful outdoor gear and painfully cute :)

ETA: I’m not feeling well today, I am shocked and sad at the news, I take my consolations where I can find them :)

Yes, it is a word.

Lately I was moved to tears seeing rows of children all excited and happy because they were going to see the cows brought to the cattle market nearby. It's a big event and the children from the nearby school and kindergarden come to see the arrival of the animals, all decorated with flowers and bells, and the farmers with their traditional clothes.
