I finished to put together the documents for my bookkeeper 3 months earlier than usual (and 4 months after normal people do...).

Been listening to the "epic emotional" music this company puts out, and I'm just blown away by it!

Happy belated birthday, dear Karen!

Yesterday I phoned my Irish friend to wish her happy birthday, also one day later, she has it on the 26th as well.

Anne | 6816 comments Sick leave.

It seems some of us ( meaning me) just isn't capable of taking care of herself. I started working after my TIA, fully meaning to take it a little easy for a while. But my job being what it is and me being how I am, that became difficult to maintain. And it is only myself I have to blame, remember that little word "no"? Seems I forgot. Result, constant headaches, exhaustion and so on. The doctor was kind of exasperated with me. Apparantly a damage to the brain takes a while to heal. So now I am out for two weeks, and then we shall discuss my situation anew. Seems this is a difficult lesson to learn.

Oh dear. Well, in a way I'm glad the doctor made this decision for you. Trying to take it easy while working is not a simple task to accomplish. Not with the work ethics like yours, anyway. :-)

So, try to think these couple of weeks as YOURS. Completely yours. Don't give a thought to work stuff if humanly possible. Do things that give you joy, take care of yourself, pamper yourself. Read soothing books, take leisurely walks, enjoy candlelight, meet with friends and family... I'm sending supportive thoughts, dear.

Thank you dear and all of you. That is what I shall do now and frankly the only thing I have the energy for at the moment. The issue is what happens when my energy levels are back to normal. Will I be able to restrain myself then. I hope so, but somehow I am afraid I will revert to bad habits. Someone should invent a chill pill :)

Have you tried using something like Wunderlist (wunderlist.com) or Todoist (todoist.com), which are online/app to-do lists? They might help you manage your work load, say, if you figure out that doing five tasks a day needs to be your limit, you can easily move tasks around and still make sure they get done. Just a thought. I realized the other day that I've used Todoist for several years now, which is longer than I've ever attempted anything similar before, where I was lucky if I lasted a couple of months.

Wunderlist allows you to do more for free than Todoist, and has more soothing backgrounds, but my brain just likes the way Todoist is set up better.

Anyway, just a thought.

Absolutely. In my opinion the SO was forced back to work WAY too early. And though he wanted that, wanted to feel normal again as soon as possible, it wasn't a good decision. He wasn't ready. He needed more time to absorb and recover. And, frankly, so did I.

So take this gift, Anne. And make the most of it.

Here, we get written up for taking more than 10 "instances" of sick time, which could be leaving work an hour early, or taking a whole day off. The Union is fighting it, because, yeah, it makes no sense.

I'm so glad you've got the support system you do!

Frustrated.

I'm deep into Evenfall: Volume 2: Director's Cut, in fact, I'm almost finished with it. And I'm frustrated because it's soooooooo gooooood!!!! It's got all the feels, and I had to put it down to go to work. I need to know what happens!

I was thinking today that I'm already mourning the fact that my best Italian friend here will go back to Italy in less than one year. Of course we will keep in touch, but it will be more difficult and more ''distant''.
