So awful. I was horrified to learn that last time people were not allowed to take their pets with them to shelters and so forth. I honestly don't know what we would do if we couldn't bring Marlowe. Jump in our car and just drive for as long as possible, I guess. We couldn't leave him.

Very relieved to know that this time around, pets were evacuated too.

Relief

I realized yesterday that I've been anxiety-free for a few days now, and I'm finally beginning to tackle this alarming mountain of work that has piled up while I struggled to stay afloat.

I read something the other day that said some pet owners in Florida had evacuated and left their dogs tied up outside. They were going to be prosecuted for animal endangerment and whatnot. Good. I can't believe people would do that. Drives me nuts.

Not really, except I am in the danger zone because of my parent's health history, and maybe migraines when I was younger. Apparently, according to people who know me well, I have a tendency to stress more than is good for me. I have burned out once before, so perhaps there is something in my make up that lends itself to me hitting the proverbial wall from time to time? I don't really know. I shall try to take it a little more easy, though. Everything doesn't have to be perfect all the time. Or so I've heard. :)

I am heading off to the marvellous land of Oz in a few hours. Hooray! The last few weeks at work have been pretty full on, so I was definitely in need of a little break and this trip is well-timed. In fact, I feel better already this morning! It's a beautiful clear morning and it definitely looks like a good day to go somewhere. Australia, in particular. I'll catch you all later.
