How fun!

In two weeks, we are going to Melbourne (Australia) for a week with my birthday as the excuse and I've been spending the past few days booking things and planning and I'm so freaking excited. It's going to be super fun. I've wanted to go there for years and now it's happening. Yay. :)

Ugh.
Have they figured out what caused it? High blood pressure? Stress? You seem to be in such good shape, to me anyway. I'm glad that it's such a mild incident -- a warning, really.
Also glad that your daughter could spend time with you. That's the best medicine.

So awful. I was horrified to learn that last time people were not allowed to take their pets with them to shelters and so forth. I honestly don't know what we would do if we couldn't bring Marlowe. Jump in our car and just drive for as long as possible, I guess. We couldn't leave him.
Very relieved to know that this time around, pets were evacuated too.

Relief
I realized yesterday that I've been anxiety-free for a few days now, and I'm finally beginning to tackle this alarming mountain of work that has piled up while I struggled to stay afloat.

If I couldn't take Adrien to a shelter with me, then forget it, I'm not going to a shelter. I can't leave her. Ever.
I read something the other day that said some pet owners in Florida had evacuated and left their dogs tied up outside. They were going to be prosecuted for animal endangerment and whatnot. Good. I can't believe people would do that. Drives me nuts.

I agree. I would not leave Marlowe under any circumstances.
I don't understand how people could do that.

Not really, except I am in the danger zone because of my parent's health history, and maybe migraines when I was younger. Apparently, according to people who know me well, I have a tendency to stress more than is good for me. I have burned out once before, so perhaps there is something in my make up that lends itself to me hitting the proverbial wall from time to time? I don't really know. I shall try to take it a little more easy, though. Everything doesn't have to be perfect all the time. Or so I've heard. :)

Good to hear. And please remind yourself to take some time for yourself in between.

Some of us seem to need those reminders, those warnings from time to time. Let's learn from them, shall we. Again, that is. :-)

Directive.
Watched WALL-E again last night and as I was debating a character in my book, I realized she has no directive. This is such a great word!

It looks like a couple of great tits is planning to use the nest near my office window. Although at the moment they are taking parts away more than adding to it.

(Maltese/toy-poodle mix. I petted one a few days ago. Incredibly soft and seriously adorable.)

I am heading off to the marvellous land of Oz in a few hours. Hooray! The last few weeks at work have been pretty full on, so I was definitely in need of a little break and this trip is well-timed. In fact, I feel better already this morning! It's a beautiful clear morning and it definitely looks like a good day to go somewhere. Australia, in particular. I'll catch you all later. Have a great week! :)

Recalculating
This has been the weirdest year for trying to write. It seems like ther are endless interruptions and distractions and obligations.
I'm having to scramble to come up with a new game plan--again.

Apparently this is a lesson we Type A personalities have to keep learning over and over.
I'm so relieved that you're feeling better and that things were not worse. This way you can view it as a warning and move to put the right changes into place.
