Perfect!

Sorry to hear about this. I hope you'll feel better soon, in the meantime distract yourself by reading!

Scary... I hope you feel better soon! *hugs*

I love steam trains and there's a steam train festival happening in a nearby country town, so we're going to go have a fun day out. Like Anne, I could use a little distraction from the wor..."

That sounds scary! Take care, dear Anne, I hope you'll be out of there and back to good very soon! :-)

Oh no — that's so scary! I'm sending warm hugs and lots of love from me and hubby, both. Good to hear you're in good hands, dear. And well done, colleagues, for taking you straight to a doctor! Take it easy and try to stay patient. (Easier said than done, I know!) Thank gods for Kindle. :-)
Let us know how it all goes, ok?

Thank you. I am full of wires for checking my heartbeat and tomorrow there will be ultrasound check and MRI. I feel OK now, but they are not taking any chances. I gladly pay taxes in order to pay for a health system like this.

I am glad, that you went straight to a hospital and hope so very much that all is okay. Take care, my dear!

As I was having a walk after a storm in the evening I met 5 (five!) fire salamanders* in 5 m path. Till now had always seen one of them, and as a seldom occurrence.

The cabinet maker, a dear neighbour, just left and now I've got new shelves in my bedroom ready for all my m/m books, and with some spare room ;-)

So pretty. Very cool that you saw five of them.

It's been so rainy and cool today that I've been wearing a wool scarf even inside the house today. And not just any scarf — Anne knitted this beautiful, warm scarf for me a couple of years ago while listening to Adrien English audio books. :-)

That made me smile :)

I'm still officially a patient, but allowed to stay home the weekend. It is a great relief to be home.
They are still carrying out tests so on Monday there is a new round that hopefully will figure out what it is and how to proceed. In the meantime I am to relax and take it easy and swallow the medicine. So much better to read in my own home than in a hospital full of strange people, strange sounds and a strange bed :).
But still, my gratitude to our fantastic health system and all the great people working there, is without bounds.

Wow! That's a lot. I only ever saw one. Aren't they endangered? You probably have the perfect habitat for them :-)

If you mean to imply that here is usually very wet and cold... you are right ;-)

Enjoy being home, Anne. Hospitals aren't nice places to spend time, even under the best conditions. All the best for the next round of tests. :)

I feel like Atlanta racing toward the end of the year, grabbing as many golden apples as I can...and probably dropping as many as I keep.

So they still don't know what's going on???
Maybe that's good though. The most disastrous things would probably be the easiest to diagnose?

They have a theory I think. What they are looking for in the MR is traces after a stroke. If there aren't any, which I hope, they probably conclude with a minor one that doesn't necessary make traces but still needs to be treated. But the smaller, the less damage I think?
I don't feel very damaged, I have all my senses intact, but I am very tired and out of sorts. So I believe there will be some days off work to recover and probably medicine to avoid repeats and after a few weeks hopefully I will be good as new. This is the result I'm hoping for and believe to be realistic. But there is no denying this is scary. I really like my brain and want it as intact as possible :)
My daughter will come from UK to stay a while, that makes me happy :)

It is scary. Best wishes, and a hug!

That sounds about right, from what I know. The smaller the stroke, the less damage, but yes, it's still horribly scary.
I'm glad your daughter is coming up to be with you! That's a good thing for sure.

Which is what it was. That means no visible damage to my brain. Puh!
Medicine shall prevent more and if something similar happens again, I am to get to hospital immediately.
My daughter is here, I am relieved, all is well in my world. :) (Apart from Trump etc, but that is another story).

Oh, it is good that you know what it was, and that it wasn't a ''regular'' stroke. Any idea why it happened?

hurricane.
Been reading a few articles about the hurricane in Texas and how scary it is. Seeing families and their pets trying to escape in photos just makes me want to go home and be with my doggie.

I apparently am predisposed because of my family, but otherwise they didn't say. It has been very hectic at work a couple of weeks and I am prone to become stessed (according to my daughter, I naturally don't agree- stressed- me? Never 😊). My boss want us to have a discussion about how we work, he says. I am not very good at saying no when people ask, which has led to problems before as well, so a mix of many things I guess. Which probably always is the case, right?
Thank you all for your warm words, it has been good to vent here, this really scared me for a while.

It makes me grateful for my warm, dry home. I hope everybody who need it get shelter and food and will be able to go home soon.

You're already taking good care of yourself (all those good, healthy choices you've made during the past few years!), but yeah, maybe it's time to start saying that little, but oh so important word "no" more often. You have a good reason to do that now. And to be kind towards yourself that way.
I'm so glad to hear that your boss wants to discuss your situation and your work load with you, dear.
