Oh no — that's so scary! I'm sending warm hugs and lots of love from me and hubby, both. Good to hear you're in good hands, dear. And well done, colleagues, for taking you straight to a doctor! Take it easy and try to stay patient. (Easier said than done, I know!) Thank gods for Kindle. :-)

Let us know how it all goes, ok?

Thank you. I am full of wires for checking my heartbeat and tomorrow there will be ultrasound check and MRI. I feel OK now, but they are not taking any chances. I gladly pay taxes in order to pay for a health system like this.

As I was having a walk after a storm in the evening I met 5 (five!) fire salamanders* in 5 m path. Till now had always seen one of them, and as a seldom occurrence.

Anne | 6816 comments Home.

I'm still officially a patient, but allowed to stay home the weekend. It is a great relief to be home.

They are still carrying out tests so on Monday there is a new round that hopefully will figure out what it is and how to proceed. In the meantime I am to relax and take it easy and swallow the medicine. So much better to read in my own home than in a hospital full of strange people, strange sounds and a strange bed :).

But still, my gratitude to our fantastic health system and all the great people working there, is without bounds.

So they still don't know what's going on???

Maybe that's good though. The most disastrous things would probably be the easiest to diagnose?

They have a theory I think. What they are looking for in the MR is traces after a stroke. If there aren't any, which I hope, they probably conclude with a minor one that doesn't necessary make traces but still needs to be treated. But the smaller, the less damage I think?

I don't feel very damaged, I have all my senses intact, but I am very tired and out of sorts. So I believe there will be some days off work to recover and probably medicine to avoid repeats and after a few weeks hopefully I will be good as new. This is the result I'm hoping for and believe to be realistic. But there is no denying this is scary. I really like my brain and want it as intact as possible :)

My daughter will come from UK to stay a while, that makes me happy :)

That sounds about right, from what I know. The smaller the stroke, the less damage, but yes, it's still horribly scary.

Which is what it was. That means no visible damage to my brain. Puh!

Medicine shall prevent more and if something similar happens again, I am to get to hospital immediately.

I apparently am predisposed because of my family, but otherwise they didn't say. It has been very hectic at work a couple of weeks and I am prone to become stessed (according to my daughter, I naturally don't agree- stressed- me? Never 😊). My boss want us to have a discussion about how we work, he says. I am not very good at saying no when people ask, which has led to problems before as well, so a mix of many things I guess. Which probably always is the case, right?

Thank you all for your warm words, it has been good to vent here, this really scared me for a while.

You're already taking good care of yourself (all those good, healthy choices you've made during the past few years!), but yeah, maybe it's time to start saying that little, but oh so important word "no" more often. You have a good reason to do that now. And to be kind towards yourself that way.

I'm so glad to hear that your boss wants to discuss your situation and your work load with you, dear.
