My disaster for the holiday is I discovered last night I've apparently thrown away one of my nephews' gift cards. :-(

If you had bought the card in my shop, you could phone our helpdesk to reverse the gift card and then get the money back.

Sorry to hear about this. Maybe you could use hot water from the stove and make it ''an adventure''...

Some years ago I gave some Guatemalan worry dolls as a present to the neighbours' children. I remember wishing someone would have given them to me as I was a child.

That's upsetting. I hope that you are a bit better in the meantime and that you survived the shops.

Tapioca

I've got a cold, so I think I'm allowed to eat pudding. :-)

Or maybe my word should be... Surgery.

Adrien is scheduled for Monday morning to have the tumor removed. We met with the surgeon this morning and I really like him! Not only was he knowledgeable and more confident in his abilities than my own vet, he had a great personality, slightly geeky, and he was cute. :-) I feel pretty good about this.

I'll second that!

Adrien did a fantastic job of not touching anything that was left out. My mom was worried she'd get into the Christmas stocking candy, which was laid out on the kitchen table and covered with towels. :-) healthy dog and God candy still to eat. Yum!

When I was house hunting a friend sent me a Guatemalan worry doll which did indeed sleep under my pillow. Now she sleeps in my undies drawer.

Actual I have a free day, but someone is ill, so I have 'decided' to work a little bit today.
Walking through the very white snow, all seems to be new and glittering.

I wish you all a Happy New Year!

I hope your New Year resolutions are lasting a bit longer than mine!

Rain

An unusual amount of rain for this time of year (November-early January). Not our typical late Fall/Winter weather.

If your new year's resolution was to work less, it didn't last long! But you can still do it, even with a small set back :)

Windy.

Windstorms this morning, but we're supposed to have rain later on. I hope the wind doesn't blow the rain clouds away.

We're having a wet winter compared to last year, but it is still just a drop in the very empty bucket.

That's such an awesome pic. At first i thought Annie did it (Sorry, Annie!), but then i noticed the big knife, lol. And then also that Annie looked slightly worried (or intrigued?). Would make a nice gothic/suspense though cozy mystery, with Annie relating the events that transpired just minutes/hours(?) before she took the selfie. :-) With a selfie stick, in the living room ;-)

LOL, Karen, Alison and KC! I'm chuckling here thinking of fierce Annie the dog with a selfie stick. :-D

And here's the pic they're talking about. We killed the Christmas (tree) yesterday. It was waaaay too big to take out the door in one piece, so... :-)

Ok, but if you couldn't get it out in one piece, how did you get it IN? I'm now very curious!

Since I didn't have an Annie to kill my Christmas tree, I had to carry it outside. There are needles everywhere, also after I have vacuumed. I will find needles at midsummer I think, they hide and jump forward when you least expect them! Sneaky little things.
