No. Actually it wasn't. It was a company I use to work with. Two companies, in fact. I'm not sure why I'm so shocked. I guess I'm still pretty damned naïve sometimes.

Thank you. It really was kind of shattering.
You know that scene in
when Davey's uncle sends him up to the tower to sleep, and he opens the door to what he imagines is his room, and nearly falls out into nothingness? That's kind of what it felt like.
Wow.

Better a bit naive than overly cynical. Of course being betrayed tends to bolster cynicism. Hold strong!

(There is very little more consistently infuriating to a writer than a space bar that only sorta works.)

My work keyboard sometimes likes to start "typing" a long row of periods in random places just because. The only way to get it to stop is to restart the computer.

The friend I'm staying with just told me about this. Apparently it is addictive.

((even though my short holiday was wonderful))"
Coming home is always wonderful also when the vacation is great :)

I have an electrician here, no light in the bathroom. No windows either so I have to pay out of my nose to have it fixed or shower in pitch black darkness, which won't do of course.
This is so expensive, my Master Card has a heart attack.
So the word should perhaps be panic. Fortunately I have some savings.
Yuck :(

I feel your pain. Our hot water heater gave up the ghost last night. And this is after replacing our leaking kitchen sink to the tune of $650 last month. Dammit. Attention home maintenance fairies: I'm broke. You can stop any time now.
