I didn't know you could do that either! Cool!

Jordan, does your GR only give you two gender choices? I know my page has a "custom" gender option where you can fill in whatever you want. There appear to only be three pronoun choices, however.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good racket going there. Nice! Cake! :)

Alison, after emailing GR I found the correct page to change my gender... By accident, of course! The first page, when clicking on my account only gives me male or female as options. Then I found another tiny link on that page which let me edit my profile in more detail and that one gave me the custom option. When you click on custom you can type in what you want, which is cool. I'm just confused as to why the first page only has two options and why GR doesn't seem too anxious to do anything about it.

Also, am now wondering why one of those pages has a "bio", the other an "about me" section, and only one of them seems visible in my public profile. I discovered this yesterday, noticing that both have different sayings about me.

I'll need to play around with it, some more, I think. I will need to use my fake teaching account to see what I look like to the public. Maybe I'll have time at work later tonight, in prep for my GR workshop.

Antonella,

Are you sure that's not too dangerous? That sounds like more cake than you should be handling alone. Remember, if you need any help with that, I'm always here for you! :-D

Thank you for being willing to help!

But I'm already very selfless: I plan to get the cakes on Friday, so that I can take them to the antiracism-centre where I always eat on Friday evening.

My guess is that it has something to do with the fact that you have an author profile too.

In the settings, I have only the option Profile for this kind of settings. There is a dropdown with female/male/custom, too.

-book display, that is. We got new display shelves that we needed to learn how to use properly. I think I finally figured them out so the books actually look good this morning. :-) Good and spooky.

This brings back pleasant memories of cobwebs and giant plastic spiders and smiling paper jack-o-lanterns... :-D

Those were the days! When even a trip to the school library conjured up the possibility of magic.

We contemplated putting out things like that but we don't have any in our department and no budget to buy it. Or storage, for that matter. :-(

That stuff matters!

(How silly that sounds--but it's kind of true when you take your own memories into account.)

Exhausted.

Got my spaghetti sauce ready to simmer for three hours, can't keep my eyes open. Instead of dishes or making the pot pies, I'm going to take a long nap.

Hah. Too bad we don't live closer — I'd be glad to lend you hubby. :-D And he'd be delighted to have a challenge like that. Believe it or not, but putting together IKEA furniture is one of his favorite things to do. All those wonderful instruction leaflets, too... It's like Legos for grown-ups! :-)
