Maple glaced! It's a sad affair you don't get them here... Actually, you barely get any donuts at all.

As in the water that came dripping into my appartment on Sunday from a broken pipe upstairs and killed all electricity.

I had started to think: ''How nice!'' and then I've read the rest. Sorry about this. I hope no permanent damage...

OMG - no, no Calathea. Hug you!

Good thing, though, even on a Sunday the facility management was on call and reacted promptly.

I had a moment of panic thinking I had missed the time change. We go back to standard time next week (I think).

It's fall! I didn't think I would need it. Next week I am sure my word will be peeling.

That is a good thing. I hope your electricity got fixed.

I hope it gets resolved quickly. *hugs*

Yummy, indeed!
These had salted caramel on top and vanilla custard inside. :-)

If the fashion magazines are to be believed -- and dermatologists - we need sunscreen on 24/7. I hate sunscreen, so it's a depressing thought. But I also hate skin cancer.

Great! Water and electricity are something we often take for granted, but if they fail, one notice how important they are.

Oh, yes. I mean, I would have survived (not comfortable, mind) but with no light I would have gone to bed around 8 and finally got a good nights sleep. ;-) :-D

How do you banish thoughts about things you can't change, at least for an evening or for a weekend?

You focus on something different and imagin it in all detail. One wants to chose something nice for that focus, right? :-)
How about thinking about sweet little kitten instead? Does it work?

Yep, I'm always ahead of the game. Or something. :)
I could also argue that it's the other way around...
I'm still getting used to it being light in the evenings. The summer duvet is officially out and it's feeling very springy these days. Yay! :)

Glad to hear it. :)

When I was stressed enough, I couldn't find that switch. Not for an evening or for a weekend. But I sure hope you can do it. Those small adventures with Hans to your beautiful surroundings might be an answer to this?
