Annoyed... Is probably too soft a word choice. But I'm annoyed at the idiots who decided to light fireworks only a few yards behind me and Adrien. I'd like them to have to take her out at 4am when she decides it's safe enough to go pee. I mean, really, insensitive much? Not paying attention to who's around and that they might be sensitive or terrified? Grrr.

Anyway, my birthday wasn't too bad. Hated having to work. But got to have a long phone chat with my second mother, whom I haven't talked to in forever. And making dinner plans with her daughter, my best friend since kindergarten. :-)

And found out my coworker said she'd take the new position! Her future supervisor told her she wouldn't bother to send in the paperwork unless my coworker was sure she wanted, and would accept, the job. Lol. Apparently she said yes. Now, just waiting for city hall to say yes or no.

I had a future coworker ask when I'm transferring to her department already! It feels amazing to be wanted! I'm sooo looking forward to not dealing with a ton of special rules, trouble shooting video game problems I know nothing about, gently kicking adults out, and teaching technology workshops for tech I don't care about.

LOL! "Prince Charming" was the one who dragged me there in a first place... :-D

Although I'm definitely not complaining — it was a fun day! Cool rides!

AND I'm now the proud owner of BB-8 earrings (!), ewok keyring and vintage looking Star Wars t-shirt. I also drooled over Chewbacca backpack and a lightsaber, but finally came to my senses and did not buy either of them. :-)

Happy birthday, Jordan. Hope it was wonderful.

I've found that the older I get, the faster the years fly by. I remembered my grandma saying something similar when I was in grade school and complained to her that the school year would NEVER end. Now it's almost August? Eek!

I've definitely noticed that! When I was in kindergarten I remember the summers lasting FOREVER, as if they were a whole year unto themselves. Now they fly by waaaaay to fast!

My nephew got his second son this morning. I was on call and had to go to their house in the middle of the night to babysit the three year old big brother when the mom's water broke and they had to go to the hospital.

A small miracle in between the world's madness.

Anne | 6816 comments Thank you.

I'm spending most of the weekend helping my twin sister ( the grandmother) looking after big brother. It is hard for him right now because mommy is in hospital and daddy spends many hours there as well and everybody talks about this new baby all the time. He might be big brother but he is still only three years old and a little, sweet soul. :)

I see why it is advisable to have kids when you are young and not sixty, though. I was so tired yesterday. But I do love being with small kids, we have the most wonderful conversations.

Kinkerlitzchen sounds great, too — very appropriate! I don't think we have a word for gewgaws in Finnish language.
