Early versions of Quicken seemed to be infinitely malleable. You could modify the way you created accounts to fit almost any purpose/category. I created a kind of easier, customized version of Quickbooks. Over time it has been "upgraded" (dumbed down) to make things "easier" for users (fewer options). Software updates drive me crazy.

Yes, it's the inflexibility of it. The writing biz is not like the average goods and services. I don't send out invoices.
