:-) It actually went really well, I thought. Though both girls who attended were on the shy side, one of them with severe social anxiety. But I think they enjoyed it. I'm hoping they come back in two weeks.
I repeated the workshop on Wednesday morning with a school group and it went really well. :-D And that one included a workshop in Anime Studio, which was my first time teaching it and yeah, even the teacher said he was having fun.

Yeah, I actually did. Piece of cake, which makes it more enjoyable and the kids were great too.

My sister and I will stay in a small hotel on a small island (Lefkas) and hopefully enjoy the sun and the sea, read a lot of books and eat healthy Greek food. That's the plan.

Congratulations, though, because I understand that the best way to help them at the moment is to go there and spend some money. Even if it doesn't solve the international many problems they have, the individual people badly need all the tourist money they can get.

Thank you. As long as the travel agent doesn't cancel the trip I take it as given that things will work out, but I will probably bring more cash than usual. I believe the Greek people need all the help they can get, so I do my small part :)

Hi Anne, as someone who's married to a Greek and go there every 2 months, I can tell you that life seems fairly calm and normal, my Greek in-laws are in Thassos for the summer themselves (he reckons he might as well hearing bad news while soaking in the sea!) at the moment. I believe as long as you avoid a few protest areas in Athens, most holiday destinations are business as usual.
In fact, recently there's an article in the Guardian, German tourists claimed they were being treated very friendly by the Greeks.
To be honest, Greek locals will debate with you to the death when the subject comes up (god knows, we had countless arguments with them), but discussions will be done over cups of frappe or glasses of ouzo and retsina. Most likely they will carry on being good hosts on those beautiful land.
But yes, do bring extra cash. Hope you have a good holiday there.

Here too! The season started early and it just keeps going. Last week there was a record recording of rainfall in a 24-hour period going back to 1893. : )

According to today's news, a new agreement is about to become reality.
I really look forward to visiting Greece again, the last time was in 1978 when my then boyfriend (later husband, later ex-husband) and I travelled around for weeks on a shoestring budget, from Athens via several islands and then ended up in Turkey and Istanbul, going on a small fishing boat (with red sails) from Samos to the Turkish mainland. Fun times. This time will be less strenuous and more relaxed I think, but perhaps not so fun :).

We're getting reports of people getting discounts when paying with cash.

I hear you! My flight home from Tucson was delayed an hour. I didn't get home until midnight. Thank goodness for coffee!

Hug you Carli, I hope that your parents feel better and you can find real sleep!

Yes, damn it! I hope you feel tomorrow way better. Zinc and vitamin C helps me often. I think of you!

LOL, but great news bears repeating :-)

I LOVE that word!"
