Thanks to some idiot politicians I got paid my student benefits for June the last day in May and will get my payment for July the last bank day in July as I switch to another benefits system until I find a job. 2 months without getting any money.
And yes, this happens to every single student who finish their education without having already started a new job in June, while doing their exams. Every year.
Clever, ain't it?

BooHiss! That seriously sucks. Only bureaucrats can TRULY screw the pooch so thoroughly.

When your team trades one of your favorite players. I'm gonna cry. Sniff. ;-)

But I have to!"
Me, too!"
We're getting some hot too, nowhere near too hot though

Figured something out re yesterdays word, woohoo, now I can both pay my bills AND get food :p"
That is good to hear!

Poor baby. One more team to follow for his sake, yes? ;-) [and anyways, why didn't we get him?? ;-))]

I'm bit scared of the end of the week. They talked of up to 40°C. I mean... what?

Lucky you! :-)

I was just thinking I don't need another team to follow more closely *after I go and follow the Blue Jackets on Twitter* LOL. I will have to get tickets to a Caps-Jackets game next season. I've got my calendar marked for the Caps-Hawks game - just waiting to snap up tickets for that one! Is it October yet? ;-)
Hockey Twitter is CRAZY right now. :D
I bet Saad would have loved to go to his hometown team if he couldn't stay with the Hawks. Looks like the Pens got Kessel, though.
We might have a pretty exciting Metro division this year. :D

I just came home and read about it. I'm not sure if the Kessel deal is good or bad, but Harry and Kappi gone...? *sniff*
And it looks like I have to follow the Sharks now after Paulie signed with them. What?!

Hi Josh! I am happy, that you are back!"

I am feeling better, because I know I have one week at the Northsee this month. Actual it was not possible, but I could hear your combined advice in my mind and have fought adamantine for it. I thank you and this group for this!

Sabine, I'm so glad you have managed to get a week at the North Sea. I hope you can leave soon! I think you both need and deserve a holiday.

Good news, Sabine! That sounds lovely. Nothing like the sea to freshen you up. I'm pleased for you. :)

What Johanna said ;-)

36°C (96,8) in a country, which don't like air-co :-)"
Same. (I can't even send any cool air or thoughts of cool air your way...)

Currently it's between 20 & 25C depending on distance to the coast, the sea is still cool, so coast weather is also cooler than inland.

I'm allowing myself a short grump-fest at the moment. It won't last too long though because in the end I start laughing at myself... which is kind of irritating too, come to think of it.
But here is why:
Firstly, I have learned from my doctor I have sun damage in my face and need to get to a specialist and have treatment, which is painful and might cause scarring. The upside is we have health insurance at work, so I don't have to pay for it. But in the meantime I must be very careful with the sun. And it is shining! (which is a good thing)
Secondly both my washer and dryer decided to die on me so I have bought new ones (expensive!). They were supposed to be delivered today so I had to stay home from work, but only the washing machine was delivered. The dryer was delayed from Sweden apparently and of course they had managed to write down my telephone number wrongly so hadn't managed to call me. (it isn't that hard to find me on the yellow pages, you know). Then they couldn't attach the washer, which I had paid for them to do or remove the old appliances which I also have paid for them to do, because they need someone to remove some doors and stuff in my bathroom. I have to admit, I should have explained the set-up better at the shop, so it's my fault as well, which makes me MORE grumpy, not less.
I ended up talking to a very friendly lady at the shop explaining the situation so hopefully they will be able to sort things out and help me get some people in to do the stuff I have no idea how to do. But not until Monday at the earliest. I need to do laundry!!
Thirdly, I managed to bump my nephew's car into a concrete pillar (don't ask!) and of course must pay for the damage, or at least the part not covered by his insurance. Fortunately, he did the same to his brother's car not long ago, so he has been very gracious about it, but still.
And last, but not least, later this summer I am going on a week's vacation to the Greek island of Lefkas, which of course is lovely and all, but Greece! I wonder how that will work out..
Grump!
Thanks for listening to my rant, it isn't really very interesting.
I shall now try to find my sunny self somewhere ;)

:-(! I hug you, even if you are grumpy! Your first point is the one, which concern me the most! Take care, dear Anne!

Oh dear. I think a grump-fest really was in order. That's quite a bit of bad luck there. :-( This definitely calls for an extra super hyper amount of virtual hugs and supportive vibrations.
And I have to say that you can be grumpy much more gracefully than I can. Your grumpy rant made me even smile occasionally. :-)
And about Greece — it was "this close" from happening to us, too. We've always liked visiting Greek islands a lot, but haven't done it for a long time. We were about to book a trip to Santorini when the latest news came. I had the coolest cave hotel picked out and everything! Well, at least be sure to take all the money in cash with you. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it'll work out well in the end.
Take care, dear. I'm sure there's going to be smoother, more serene times ahead of you. Oh, and by the way — there's always a concrete pillar where there shouldn't be one! (Yeah, don't ask.) :-)

I just talked to the washer/dryer people and they will come again on Monday with a dryer and with people who can install all things for me (I hope - keep your fingers crossed!)
*hugs* Anne. I hope everything turns out ok soon!
Your grump fest reminded me of my internet issues. I'm thinking of dropping my internet provider now, rather than when I move it's so bad. I can't even set up my new laptop because my internet keeps dropping. They don't know my new address and are saying I'll need a landline now for dial up. Huh? Dial up?!
I should have known not to call at 11:30pm last night. But still, ugh!

Dial up? Don't they know we are in the third millenium now? ;)

Yes. Also I find this truly amazing. Again and again. It's easy to be compassionate and friendly when everything is relatively easy in one's own life, but it's truly an admirable skill to be like that while one is extremely busy and stressed with all kinds of major things happening in one's own life. And to be considerate even towards faraway, online reader friends at times like these — how very lovely. As much as I admire our Josh as a writer, his kind, warm heart is the thing I admire the most as a friend.
