LOL! I just took a photo of hubby for his new passport yesterday. It was an excruciating process. :-D He hated the outcome and I kept saying: "It's just a passport pic! NOBODY sees it! Not even the officers checking passports, because it's biometric and you get to use the self-servise gate!"

I'm back to sleeping in braces, and I think the massage will help a lot. And yes, the spa is a good idea!

*snorts* We should yesterday declare as International Bad-Picture-Day!

I need to mow mine, and talk to the council about getting rid of my grass.

This was my last chance to mow (a lovely mix of grass and weeds) for awhile because I spotted our first tiny toad of the season yesterday, and we stop mowing when the baby toads emerge from the pond. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. : )

I look forward to hear everything about this event. It sure sounds promising. :-)

I love it when children organise shows without help from adults. You'll have fun for sure.

It was fun :)
The group my little kinfolk belong to (4 year olds) sang Father Jacob in four languages, Norwegian, Dutch, Russian and Polish (apparently there are parents from these countries in the group). Very impressive. Other kids sang other songs and they all showed us their gymnastic routine which involves a lot of jumping up and down, hand clapping and singing very loudly.
They are all very earnest and serious during their routine of course, and it is always fun to notice the one kid who is completely clueless to what is going on and is more concerned with the flowers or bugs in the grass, or her dress or whatever else takes their fancy aside from what the others are doing, the one with the extra moves and exaggerated hand gestures (a little redhead really was into it) and the one singing completely out of tune (that used to be my son btw) :)
The weather was lovely, there were a lot of food and cake and my nephew crowned the experience by getting sick and puking all over his parents' bed later that night. All very traditional :)

LOL. I'm having (very) late breakfast in front of my computer while hubby is at work, and your post was the first thing I read this morning. Images you painted will keep me smiling the whole day. :-)
By the way, I used to be the kid rolling my skirt upward in my nervous little hands when performing. :-D

That girl with the rolled up skirt was there, too. I even caught her with my camera :)

Isn't it lovely how these things never change irrespective of time and place? In my daughter's group they sung Father Jacob in Czech, German, French and English, but otherwise it was totally the same! Oh, and in my days I was the one singing loudly out of tune, too :-)

To read here the posts and to read certain books :-) helps a lot.
Sorry dear people for the lament!

When is your next vacation? You are perilously close to burnout, Sabine.
When is your next vacation? You are perilously close to burnout, Sabine.

Sending you lots of hugs, dear Sabine. Please take care!

My next vacation ( one week) should be in July, but there are so many people ill, it is not sure I can go. I will do my very best, to make it possible.

This is not good, Sabine and those feelings you have, they definitely send some warning bells clanging. Are you sure your choices is either to go on like this or an unrealistic half year vacation? Another, less strenuous job, working part time for a while? Or other options? Crashing and burning and getting sick leaves you with no choice. Better change things around while you're still in charge.
I do not wish to trespass upon your private life, but I'm really worried about you. Lots of love and hugs, dear.

I mean, I would never have won a beauty contest, but to look like an addled drug addict with a mile long rap sheet is just a bit harsh!!
