This is one of my favorite love stories of all time. I find the story so moving, I can feel my heart breaking/expanding every time I read it.
Jessica Scott's Back to You is a military romance worthy of Valentine's Day. But so are others by her. But this book is one that draws the reader into the story and everyone can empathize if not sympathize with Trent and Laura Davilla.
Natalie- Just write in your favorite romance book in this discussion thread. These will be added to some of the other romance books from our bookshelf, and our poll will be created for next month's book. Hope that helps.
I'd like to nominate
by Moriah Densley. Best romance I read last year...and I don't particularly love historicals. >.> The savant Aspergian hero really got to me. Quite the gutsy and well crafty story. :)

I also loved "The Notebook", by Nicholas Sparks. So moving.
My all time favorite romance is The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough. I know it is really a much older book, but perhaps there are some who have never read it.
I liked The Time Traveller's wife, but I have also just finished The Paris Wife - a beautiful story about Hemmingway's first wife, Hadley, told from her POV. Now I'm going to read A Moveable Feast - Hemmingway's account of his first marriage. It will be fascinating to compare the two books, and would make for a great discussion here, I think. As for romance -- At the end of A Moveable Feast, Hemmingway writes "I wish I had died before I loved anyone but Hadley"
I nominate 'NO GREATER GLORY' by Cindy Nord. THIS is an epic Civil War historical romance on par with GWTW or North & South. An incredible love story, excellent historical detailing, and military insight into the eastern theatre of the war in Virginia. For nearly a full year, this book was the #1 Civil War Romance at Amazon. All the 5-star reviews were correct. I couldn't put this one down. ~ Jeremy Glave
The Traitor's Emblem by Juan Gomez-Jurado. There is romance and mystery in this one. It's amazing.http://www.shelfari.com/books/1806354...
Susan wrote: "Bella....A French Life by Marilyn Z Tomlins an evocative love story set in Normandy France."
I would like to nominate First Love by James Patterson. Can't wait to read it...should be incredible just like his other romantic novels. Wishing you all the very best! :)
I really enjoyed the movie, The Notebook - but then I read his book, The Lucky One. It is possibly the worst written book that's ever been published - full of cliché's and manipulative, gag-worthy sentimentality, the characters are cardboard clichés, the plot is totally predictable. The idea is cool, but the execution is terrible. I think we'd regret spoiling a good movie by subjecting ourselves to his writing.

This is the nomination thread. I will take these suggestions and add them to some of the books listed under romances on our group bookshelf and put the poll together this evening for the official vote. :)
