Hi. This is a science fiction novel which is framed as a narrative within a narrative. In the somewhat near future, a writer(poet?) is an early colonist to Mars. He believes his wife is having an affair. He becomes trapped in a vehicle in a a dust storm (I think). While he is trapped, he begins writing a drama about the far future of Mars when the inhabitants are carefree posthumans. I'm fairly certain that there is an Oedipal theme in the plot of his work. This is all I recall about it (sorry). I read this novel a little over a decade ago. Thanks for any assistance.

I don't recognize it, but it sounds like something Ray Bradbury might have written. Maybe a story from The Martian Chronicles.

No, I'm afraid not. I love The Martian Chronicles, but this novel is not associated with them (or Bradbury).
