Emily (elp2012) Hi,

I'm not sure if this question is in the right place, I apologize if I've misplaced it.

I am interested in being a reader for netgalley, and after browsing their website, there are a few things I am unsure of.

1) is there a certain number of books that you have to do per year (or per month)?
2) Is there a certain timeframe for which you must complete the book and review?

I just don't want to get in over my head.

Thanks,

Emily

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) No, not a certain number of books per year and month. If you are approved for an ARC book; most publishers require you to review/ post the review a week before, or the the day the book is published. When you are approved for a book. The publisher will send you an email telling you if you got approved for the book you requested or not. Some of the publishing companies e.g. Harlequin, Random House, etc will give you a date they would like the review to be posted. Other wise no not really a specific date.

They have a blog that has a lot of helpful information. I would post it, but I am on my phone.

I hope this is helpful!

Paige (electivelypaige) What Jackie said, but I have something to add.

Look at the publisher's page before requesting one of their books. Some will have request guidelines there, so make sure you fit the requirements for bloggers. Some will require you have a certain amount of followers, page views, etc., so make sure you include that with your bio and are honest about it.
Put your blog URL in the company line as most of the publishers list that as necessary/preferred.
Best of luck and I hope I helped!

You're very welcome! Good luck. :)

Now Edelweiss on the other hand, I just joined that so I'm not in a position to give advice there. I much prefer Netgalley navigation-wise, but the catalogs are a great way to see what's coming in the book world!

Me too I don't have a clue how to request anything with edelweiss. I find the website hard to navigate. I also prefer Netgalley because it is easy and transparent.

Here is a really good article that makes Edelweiss a whole lot simpler to navigate. I hope it helps! :)

You're welcome! I hope that helps, Edelweiss is a bit more confusing than Netgalley, but just viewing the upcoming catalogs makes it so worth it!

Paige (electivelypaige) You're welcome. :) What are book bloggers if we can't help each other out from time to time?
