Arch | 870 comments I agree with Jo, Eva. That's a very long wait. By the time you get the book, if you do, if no one doesn't keeps it. You could have saved your money and brought the book or even the movie.

message 402: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) By the time you get the book the movie will be out on DVD!!! I hate when libraries have that long a wait on books I REALLY want to read! Thankfully I read The Time Traveler's Wife before anyone knew it was going to be a movie. lol

stormhawk | 1184 comments Shutter Island - Dennis Lehane

A coworker recommended it to me. Apparently it's soon to be released as a movie.

The first three-quarters of the book were pretty interesting, but the in the last quarter it turns into one of those pull the rug out from under you books.

It was one of the best books I read all year! I loved reading about archangels, because it was so different! Even my husband wants to read it after my praises! :)

I am finally starting on Blood Promise by Richelle Mead! :)

I am on p385 of Blood Promise by Richelle Mead. It is so depressing. It's good, but depressing. Does it stop being depressing anytime soon??? I REALLY hope it does! :(

message 422: by Lynda (new)

Lynda I finished Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs and am moving on to the fourth J. R. Ward Brotherhood book.

message 423: by Anne (new)

Anne I'm going to be starting Erin McCarthy's Bit the Jackpot (Vegas Vampires #2). I love her books, but this will be the first book in her Vegas Vampire series that I have read. Dark Lover also came in at the library. I can't wait to start that one, too!

message 424: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Warning, Anne - The Vegas Vampire books build on each other! Each book stars a different couple, but there is definitely on going plots and info that make them better if read in order.

message 425: by Anne (new)

Anne Shoot! My library doesn't have the first book in the series! Oh well, I'll read the rest of them in order. Thanks for the heads-up Melissa.

message 426: by Marisa (new)

Marisa (psyko_kittie12) | 398 comments I am reading Run for Your Life by James Patterson. It is REALLY good. I started it last night when I couldnt sleep and I am already almost halfway through it.

message 427: by Ivete (new)

Ivete I am reading "It's not about the Bike" by Lance Armstrong. I'm a very slow reader compared to eveyone else on here!

message 428: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Finished Uglies. Pretty good book. Anxious to read what happens.

I am not sure what I'm starting when I get home from work tonight. MAYBE Blood and Chocolate but not positive yet.

message 429: by new_user (new)

new_user I was really disappointed when I finally tried Blood & Chocolate. The writing's pretty poor.

Nice to meet a fellow slow reader, Ivete. I always feel like I'm moving at a snail's pace compared to all my GR friends.:-)

message 431: by Anne (new)

Anne I finished and liked Bit the Jackpot. Starting Cry Wolf (hopefully) sometime today.

Ivete, don't feel bad! I have been reading this book about George Washington for at least 3 months! I finally started keeping it in my bathroom, so that when I'm "trapped" in there I'll be forced to read a few pages. Sad but true.

message 432: by Ivete (new)

Ivete Finished the Lance Armstrong book last night. Going to start "The Thorn Birds" tonight. I loved the T.V. series years ago, so looking forward to reading the book.

lol not sad at all...I do that too!

message 434: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Okay so after hearing so many different things about Blood and Chocolate so I decided not to read it....yet. I will recheck it out when there are fewer in my library bag that I KNOW I want to read.

I started The Strain late last night....already a little freaky. Is it scary? I need scary.

message 435: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 778 comments I read The Thorn Birds when I was around 13. Don't know if it really was crap or I was just too young for it. Maybe I would like it now. Let me know what you think about it when you're done.

message 436: by LaTrica (new)

LaTrica Finished The Horse and His Boy. It was a nice but predictable.
