I'm working at our headquarters this week and yesterday I went into the bathroom and there was box full of free books! Why can't that ever happen where I normally work? So anyway, I grabbed Mary Higgins Clark "Two Little Girls in Blue" and started that.
I started & finished Shadow Kiss Yesterday. Wow. Loooovvvveeeed it!Anyway, I will NOW start Iron Kissed.

I loved the movies beyond all reason (like I can watch them back to back all day and I learned Elvish, lol). So I figured that I would read the books as well. I adored the first one so I know I love this one as well.
Michelle wrote: "I learned Elvish..."You learned Elvish??? No kidding! How did you do that?
I loved it that Tolkien created a whole new very believable world with its own languages (even invented the languages).
The Philosopher's Apprentice A Novel - James Morrow Already had it downloaded on the kindle, may go back to the SPQR mysteries afterwards.
Katherine Deauxville's The Amethyst Crown, a medeival romance. KD's style of writting is wonderful, she brings the sights, sounds and such to life and it's not just a girl met boy, they fell in love and happily ever after and I like that.

It's hard, it's like learning any other language really. Practice, practice, practice. There are tons of sites up now that will give you "lessons" in pronunciation of both Sindarian and Quenya languages. Unfortunately I haven't really practiced in a while so a lot of it has slipped away from me but I'll catch up on it all again eventually.
Wow Michelle, I totally admire that! I couldn't bring myself to learn any Tolkien language, but I can understand that. After I read a really interesting book, I read up on everything related to the book, the author's profile, etc ... or if it is an interesting movie/TV show, I do the same... I do get really obsessed sometimes. :-)

Started reading Iron Kissed yesterday but it couldn't hold my attention...I think it was the heat. lol
I am about half way through Wed Him Before You Bed Him, which is pretty good so far.

I stopped half way through LMR's Dangerous Secrets, though unlike most books I stop in the middle of, I'm sure I'll finish this one. I think I just needed a break :PI ended up reading Seduction in Death, followed by Shalvis' Seeing Red, and Since I can't seem to help myself will probably read Reunion in Death next.
I'm a little over halfway through An Accidental Woman - it's a typical but good Barbara Delinsky story about how secrets in your past pop up when least expected, and of course affect everyone in your present life.Next up is Lisa Scottoline's Killer Smile - unless I'm in the mood for an historical romance by then.
Since I gave up on American Gods, by Neil Gaiman. (I just couldn't get into it and after a week of trying just gave up.) I decided to turn to something a little more entertaining. I started The Awakening, by L. J. Smith. Vampire Diaries #1.

Lauren wrote: "Im starting A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry, #1)"I read 'A Kiss of Shadows' years ago. I think I enjoyed it quite a bit and I'm pretty sure I liked it more than any of the Anita Blake mysteries. However, it was quite awhile ago so don't quote me on that :)
Im actually taking a break from Anita I read the first 9 all in a row. yeah im kinda excited about reading Merry cause I hear so much about her.
I just finished Iron Kissed and OMG! Loved it! Starting Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand at some point today.
I finished Wed Him Before You Bed Him by Sabrina Jeffries and I am now reading A Duke of Her Own by Eloisa James. So far, not my favorite Eloisa James book, but I expect that it'll get better. I've been looking forward to Villier's story for a LONG time now!

However I liked the story and loved Stefan's back story.
I am about to start The Struggle. I would like to finish the Vampire Diaries before the tv show premieres next month.

It's a cute series. I caution you away from reading Nightfall though. It was one of the WORST books I have ever read!

I think my problem is that so far...there does not seem to be much chemistry. So far, it isn't one of those romance novels where the characters cant keep their hands off of one another...I'm really hoping that changes soon!

Decided to go with a fantasy book next - am listening to Flyte:Septimus Heap, the 2nd book in a really imaginative series.
I am currently reading a book called På grund av Leon, which would translate as Because of Leon (even though it's not been translated yet), written by the Swedish writer Jenny Leeb. It's Swedish chick lit, and she's a great writer. I'm on page 207/313.
I have just finished the first Midnighters book. The Secert Hour I liked it, not fantastic but definitly enough to continue on with the series.Tonight I am going to start a book, Runemarks.
Started Buffy the Vampire Slayer The Long Way Home this morning just for something to do. I will startBad Moon Rising and/orPractical Demonkeeping tonight. It's the weekend. I shouldn't have a problem finishing all of them. hehe
i am reading SOUTH OF BROAD by pat conroy and im loving it. i am taking it slowly so as to enjoy it more. you might say i am nursing it as one nurses a drink. i read BEACH MUSIC for the 2nd time to prepare for sob and was very impressed by it again. i can t read PRINCE OF TIDES for the 3rd time cause i have seen the movie so often that i am tired of it and tired of barbra although i do like nick as the main character. read pat s bio on wikipedia and it will help you understand why he is such an emotional person, writer.
I just finished reading the Struggle by L.J. Smith. I haven't decided if I am going to read the next one or take a break and read something else.

Did you like it?

Finished 3 books in 2 days, whew! going to do a re-read to lighten things up a bit. Currently Reading Tonight:
Halfway to the Grave
Just started A Dance Through Time by Lynn Kurland. It hasn't quite grabbed me yet, but I've only read one chapter. I've heard good things about it, tho.
I finished L J Smith's Dark Reunion. I really liked it. With trepedation due to Joy's comment, I am starting Return: Nightfall.

Yes, very much. The last two book were the best of 1-4.
I just finished Practical Demonkeeping. It wasn't my favorite but still ok. I'm now reading A Dirty Job and will start Bad Moon Rising in oh about a minute. lol

LOL Sorry, her writing changes drastically. So far, I only know of a few people on Goodreads who liked Nightfall. I couldn't stand it, and decided not to read the next two that she is coming out with, because I don't want to ruin the series for myself. I loved Vampire Diaries while growing up, and Nightfall made me like it less... :( I hope your in the group that enjoys it though!
