Nona (goodreadscomnona) | 102 comments I'm currently reading Lover Revealed of the BDB but I'm going to stop reading the series after this for awhile. I'm not sure why but I don't care for Butch or Marissa. I'll finish reading the series later on.

I know! There's nothing wrong with the book, but you just can't get into it!! It's annoying beyond what's normal. I feel like the books just aren't getting my attention like they used to.

Tali28 | 3 comments ok so I started reading Vampire Academy 2 days ago. And I fell in love with it. Mainly because of the main character and the fact that there are exciting thing constantly hapening. I love that. So I decided to continue reading the rest of the series. But today I got the the third book, Shadow Kiss and I got so mad when I got to the end of chapter 20. The whole story she's been on point about what's going on around her and with her. But for some weird reason she didn't catch up to what was happening when she got news that could get everyone in trouble. I would like to know why. Why did the author do that? I don't know, but know I don't feel like finishing the book. And it was a good story.

message 955: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) I'm abit confused. Why did the author do what?? I would seriously recommend finishing the book, and continue the series.

What about science fiction? I noticed an appalling lack of science fiction in your reading. You could start with Dune. It's not one of my personal favorites, but many people have enjoyed it.

Most of your booklist is not my cup of tea, but I would suggest ... Magic's Pawn - Mercedes Lackey.

And you might want to read The Lost Symbol before they make the movie.

I've been on a historicals binge, reading all things Julie Garwood. I'm just about through with her books and then I'm going to read The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie which I see you have on your list. I've heard only wonderful things about this. If you want to read that one, I'll be happy to discuss the book with you... a buddy read if you like. I will be starting it probably on Monday.

It's really weird for me, because I LOVED Eragon. The only reason I'm still reading it is because I'm emotionally attached. I just wish it would pass by faster.

message 961: by SoBeA (new)

SoBeA (sobe1982) | 39 comments finished Soulless yesterday, which I loved mostly because of it's somewhat snarky sense of humor but also because it was nothing like I thought it would be.

And I literally just finished The Lost Recipe for Happiness a few minutes ago, though to be honest I really don't know what to think of it.

I'm in the middle of a few books:
A Great Kisser
Red-Hot Summer
Wanton Fire
so I'm going to attempt to read some more of one of those, so long as I don't get distracted by something else!

I know. I thought Eragon was amazing. And now his books seemed to go slowly.

What do you mean you had "trouble"? like you couldn't read it because it was boring? lol

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Mahyar wrote: "What do you mean you had "trouble"? like you couldn't read it because it was boring? lol..."

It was hard to get into. Slow, boring... but I kept reading it, hoping for something that made sense. Something that felt like there was really a reason behind the story, like... (I don't want to give anything away here) something compelling. I never found it.

SoBeA (sobe1982) | 39 comments I ended up starting Karen Robards' Superstition instead of any of the one's I'm already in the middle of... It's not bad, just a bit slow, so in the middle of that I took a break and read Meant to Be which was pretty much all fluff.

So now it's back to Superstition, which I hope to finish soon, unless Sizzle (Julie Garwood) or Fired Up (Jayne Ann Krentz) arrvies in the mail tomorrow :)

message 973: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) Well...sadly enough I'm STILL reading The Eye of the World...the sheer size of the book is causing me not to read it thought I enjoy it.
I finished Dead to the World this morning and so I started on What-the-Dickens The Story of a Rogue Tooth Fairy. So far I'm enjoying it, more lighthearted the Eye...lol.

message 974: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Eek. I am still reading Fallen. I am enjoying it, but the long chapters are making it difficult to hold my attention long enough to get to the good parts. I finished Cry Wolf today, I enjoyed it. Have heaps of books to read! Can't wait!!

I have been really bad lately, and have hardly read anything. I just finished reading With Seduction in Mind, which is a historical romance novel.

I am at a loss on which book I should read next...Anyone have any suggestions? I have a shelf called "own to read" and another one called "own-nook", which are the books I own. If anyone wants to take a look and suggest some I'd be grateful, because I can't make up my mind! lol

I'm really enjoying them as well, I just started the second one (Blood Bound). I'm going to finish Eye I'm just not in much of epic fantasy mood.

So I was bored at work (bad I know) and went through your own to read shelves. Since you haven't been in the mood to read much lately I would go withUglies. Mainly because it is a good book, with interesting ideas, but also that you can fly through fairly easily.

A little bit more intense, but an amazing read is The Golden Compass.

Also, for my own personal gain I'm curious about The Lost Symbol. I'm not sure if I have even added this to my to read list yet. I really liked Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code, both of them were such interesting ideas, but I read some of his other works Deception Point and another one and found he's only really semi creative, because he has close to the same story over and over again. And his writing isn't really good enough for that. So if you would like to read that and give me your opinion that would be helpful. hahaha.

Sandra Strange (sandestrange) | 3 comments I'm reading Traffic, which so far is fascinating. The author defines the word and tells a bit of history of traffic in New York. The next chapter discusses how/why we change personalities behind the wheel of a vehicle.
