Yep, the last book in the series is coming out summer/fall of next year though, so it's not too bad a wait.

UR - Stephen KingJust finished Cormac McCarthy's The Road. My boyfriend is going to be taking me to see the movie in the next couple of weeks, and I wanted to read it to see what I'm getting into. I usually like post-apocalyptic fiction, but I guess I'm more of a Canticle for Leibowitz or Alas, Babylon kind of reader. I thought The Road was pretentious crap. Who uses the word "palimpsest?"
Moving fast, didn't expect to finish UR tonight! I think I might dip into one of the Politically Incorrect Guides next, especially since I don't think I want to be seen reading Am I The Only Sane One Working Here? 101 Solutions for Surviving Office Insanity at the office! So ... this one next: The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwinism and Intelligent Design
I'm about to finish Lover Avenged, which I feel like I've been reading forever and then plan on starting A Breath of Snow and Ashes.
Finishing The Van Alen Legacy and then starting The Road. Then Under the Dome - haven't been a King fan for years but this one looks good!
I've been reading Julie Garwoods Laird's Fiancee's and Medieval series. I am almost done with them and I'm desperately looking for more medieval romance novels.
I'm currently reading The stupidest angel
by Christopher Moore. I'm just laughing out loud! It's such a guilty pleasure

Also if you like great historical facts and romance check out any of Elizabeth Chadwicks, her Ravenstow triology is historical romance but most of her other works are tagged historical fiction but have romance in them. Kathleen Woodiwiss' The Wolf and the Dove is medieval romance and one of my all time favorites.
hopefully you might find something you like from these suggestion, I am a huge history nut but love my medieval books the most including mt romance so if I remember more or come across something will let you know.
Thank you so much, Nona! I appreciate the input and have added these authors to my list of "check 'em outs"Thank you, again!
if you want to buy them I found Annette Motely for a few dollars at bookdepository, they have free shipping anywhere in the US, fyi Chadwick has only one book released in the US so you might have to search her stuff out but BD has her stuff and so does Abebooks.

I'm currently reading Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri It is a book of short stories and I am really enjoying it so far.
Well I finished Evermore the other day, Loved it. And I think I am going to read The Hunger Games, but maybe not.
I'm reading 'Invasion' by Julie Elizabeth Powell, which is a fantasy book, aimed at children, but that can be enjoyed by all ages. I'm also reading 'Mourning Doves and other stories' by Tom Upton - a collection of short stories. I'm really enjoying both books. Both are books by Goodreads authors :)
Finished The Angel Experiment - James Patterson (free Kindle Download, not likely to continue with the series), but didn't want to take the Kindle to work tonight, so I started American Gothic - Robert Bloch. He wrote Psycho. The story is a fictionalized account of HH Holmes, whose story is told in The Devil in the White City Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America
Pollyanna wrote: "I've got to read The Hunger Games, everyone who had read it seems to love it."Lol, I know! I saw in the saw and I thought 'what the heck, sounds interestinhg and everybody likes it.' Lol.
Ellen ♥ wrote: "Started The Hunger Games today, the chapters are reallly long, but I like it!"You're in for a treat! The pages go flying by and you won't notice the length of the chapters.
I haven't been here for awhile except to add books to my lists. My screen at work can be seen now so no more "slacking" lol. I just finished Smashed Story of a Drunken Girlhood. I loved this book.
I am going to be starting Demons Not Included A Night Tracker Novel tonight.
I am finally reading Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. I am really liking it so far. Very interesting.
I have nearly finished Under the Duvet Shoes, Reviews, Having the Blues, Builders, Babies, Families and Other Calamities by Marian Keyes - it is a collection of stories about her life and is really funny.
Just finished Lolita, which I would definitely recommend. Now I'm going to try and finish Sin and Syntax How to Craft Wickedly Effective Prose.
Finished Blaze of Memory - another great read in the Psy-Changeling series. Now beginning Howl's Moving Castle
I'm finally starting Dark Lover by J R Ward, friends, book buddies and everyone else has suggested them. I really like them so far, one or two prose but it's alright. There is a few things I'm curious about that I hope she explains further on in the book but until then I'm enjoying it.
Finished The Hunger Games... and it was AMAZING! Those of you who havent read it I would say go out and get it! Lol.Im not entirly sure what I will start reading next though!
I just finished Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier and it was very good. A little slow at first but it picks up and is really good. I loved it!
I decided to start Mistress of the Art of Death. I love historical fiction and a good mystery so this seemed like it would be worth a try.I'm only on page 11, but the first few pages have only been all right. Has anyone else read this book?
I've just begun The Other Lands. So far it's fantastic! I think the first book of this new Acacia series, Acacia The War with the Mein, needs to be put on my list of all time favorites. It's fantasy but it's also very literary. He really dives into the human psyche and questions what is good and bad. Nothing is black and white, and in these books the grey area is everywhere.

I hadn't previously heard of the book OR the author, but the synopsis sounds intriguing. Will be interested to see how much you like it.

You definitely have to read the sequel Catching Fire. I liked it even better than Hunger Games and I loved Hunger Games. I can't wait for the next book.

I love Julie Garwood. She's definitely my favorite historical romance author. I don't like her contemporary stuff though.
I have 3 reads going on at the moment:A Breath of Snow and Ashes- I'm struggling to keep interested in this one.
