Anne, what did you think of Succubus Dreams hon?

message 508: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Oh Anne, let me know what you think of The Laughing Corpse (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #2). I really liked that one.

Ill Wind - maybe I'm not really into weather but I can't get into this one. I'm trying and I'm not quitting! lol I'd heard the beginning is confusing and it's no lie. She just throws you in.

I really liked Succubus Dreams! I was a little nervous because I'd read Succubus Blues (loved it), but had to skip the next book in the series (can't remember the name) and go straight to Dreams. My library didn't have #2 and I really didn't want to go out and buy it. However, it didn't seem to matter too much. If my library every gets another copy I guess I'll go back and see what I was missing!

I read all of them and she is wonderful. I think when you read Succubus On Top aka Succubus Nights, you will love it anyway.

It's good! I really like what I've read of it so far. I had to put it down though, because I realized I have another book that is due back before too long!

I'm sure I will! I like the series too much to stop reading just because I can't read them in order.

message 515: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) What is WRONG with me? Am I getting paranormal-ed out? I can't read right now! I'm stuck.

message 516: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Yep...that's the plan. I'm not sure what I have at home. I'll have to go thru my books and find SOMETHING non-paranormal. lol

message 517: by Karla (new)

Karla (bookarita) | 25 comments Elvia wrote: "What is WRONG with me? Am I getting paranormal-ed out? I can't read right now! I'm stuck."

I jump from memoirs to paranormal to historical fiction all the time I don't like to stay on the same thing too long or I get bored. I want every book to start from a fresh new perspective. I get into a series and read it straight though, though. Whatever patters my lil heart I follow. My intrests are too broad. I guess thats not a bad thing though. Try something totally differnt ask around see what is someone else's favorite books and start with a few of them maybe. :)

message 518: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (moochgoddess) | 92 comments I sometimes get this weird feeling like I don't want to read anything. As soon as I pick up a good book though I get out of that funk. Weird?

Sobia, are you liking "22 Night"? I have it on my Wishlist but have put off getting it because the first one, Untouchable, seemed so much weaker than her previous trilogies - might be just my expectations.

stormhawk | 1184 comments Alien Hand Syndrome - Alan Bellows

It's intellectually stimulating, flabbergasting, and amusing, all at the same time!

message 521: by [deleted user] (new)

I am reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. ;)

I'm so happy you enjoyed it.. I'm just a few pages into it and I'm liking it so far. ♥

TheReadingKnitter/ Kasey (thereadingknitter) I'm reading The Shack by WM Paul Young. I just finished April Shadows by VC Andrews.

Anne Elvia wrote: "What is WRONG with me? Am I getting paranormal-ed out? I can't read right now! I'm stuck."

This happens to me all the time! Try an author who is easy on the brain. MaryJanice Davidson and Erin McCarthy are my two favorite "easy read" authors. Their books always remind me why I love to read in the first place!

message 526: by Karla (new)

Karla (bookarita) | 25 comments It has so much pulse-pounding action its very hard to put down!! I started City of Bones today by Cassandra Clare we'll see how this series goes!!

message 527: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I did decide to put down Ill Wind...it's due back Monday anyway. I need fluff right now (its my cranky time). I just have to find something...I'll try McArthy, Anne. Thanks.

message 528: by Anne (new)

Anne It's my cranky time, too. Gets me every month, dammit! I hope you like McCarthy. She helps me through my bad times. Heh.

message 529: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Gave up on Gravity - Tess Gerritsen cos it wasn't my cup of tea. Now I am listening to White Teeth - Zadie Smith.

How are you enjoying it so far Kasi...I couldnt put it down. Certainly gives one not only "food for thught" but HOPE. I think its a book one needs to perhaps read more than once!

stormhawk | 1184 comments Arguing with Idiots - Glenn Beck

(while I continue to dip into Alien Hand Syndrome - Alan Bellows)

I'm having one of my book ADD moments right now, switching back and forth between two books that present information in independently digestible chunks. There's no flow between one segment to the next, so it's not like interrupting reading a novel or sequential event nonfiction.

I had a hard time with it. I guess it just wasn't what I would normally read. For me it was just okay. Got me to thinking a little but most of what I believe I believe and there is no changing that. Ya know?

Now I'm reading Girl In The Shadows by VC Andrews.

message 534: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I am now reading The Cinderella Rules by Donna Kauffman. Found it at a 25 cent book sale. It seems like fluff so I should be good for a bit. lol

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Just finished the great Five on a Treasure Island - Enid Blyton. Will now carry on reading The Armada Boy - Kate Ellis.

Jackie (thenightowl) Jackie M wrote: "I am still reading The Fiery Cross I am having a hard time getting into this book. I am also reading Redeeming Love."

It starts to pick up after 400 pages. This is probably the worse one in the series because nothing really significant happens. Most of the action is saved towards the end. Despite that I enjoyed just being Jaime and Claire's world.

message 539: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I started the Vampire Diaries. I'm on book 2 The Struggle. I'm enjoying the show more than the book to be honest.

message 540: by Karla (new)

I think the show is way different. The first book was hard for me to get through, but I liked the second one alot better. I just read them last week.

Marisa (psyko_kittie12) | 398 comments I am reading Dead Girl Walking by Linda Joy Singleton. It is hilarious!

message 544: by LaTrica (new)

LaTrica Just started Queen Of Diamonds. After The Blood Knight I wanted something fun and lightweight. So far I really like it. A rather innocent romance.

message 545: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I'm reading Storm Born by Richelle Mead. Enjoying it so far.

Yeah, I noticed a lot of differences but for the show it works really well. For the first book I didn't like Elena or Stefan that much. I found her too conceited and Stefan wasn't developed enough for me. Their romance happened with one kiss although she was obessing about him for awhile. I haven't gotten very far in the second one so I hope that it gets better.

Diana | 5 comments Just started "Living Dead in Dallas." It's hard because I don't want to know anything that might happen in the tv show, so I need to wait for the true blood season to end before I start each new book.
